The first Camaro I owned was a 1970. When I bought it, it was just a body with no engine or transmission. A fellow I knew had a 1970 350LT1 engine sitting in his garage which he sold me for $300.00 and I dropped that in with a THM350 transmission which had been built to a THM375.
This all happened in 1979 or 1980 (Can't remember exactly). See what happenes when you get old?
It was totalled off by a drunk driver pulling across the road in front of me.
I have wanted another Camaro since owning that one and just was not satisfied with the next few generations. My heart was always with the
'60s...yes even though I had owned a '70...and I always had an eye peeled for something I could restore.
Now I'm waiting for a 2010 2LT/RS with ground effects and sunroof and am thinking that I can stop my search for one to restore. (Maybe?)
Can't wait to get the new one...can't wait...just can't wait...but will!
