Having been around supercharging for 15 years and the LS based engines for 12 I can say with confidence 6-7 psi will NOT effect the longevity or dependability of the vehicle. Now, that being said if properly tuned and controlled 10 psi does carry SOME risk, BUT it is a low level of risk at best.

I have learned that 99% of the performance consumers will be happy with the 530 RWHP they get from bolting on a supercharger in 8 hours. The other 1% will be building a 427 and bolting a supercharger to that. The statement I heard today brought everything full circle for me. We are junkies, we may not be pumping heroin into our veins.....but we are pumping adrenaline, induced by our right foot as it presses down on the go pedal.

2010 Camaro SS stock exhaust manifolds, cats 590 hp 555 lbs ft of torque rear wheel

Here is a run we made this afternoon with the MP2300 after going back to the stock exhaust manifolds and cats with the Corsa prototype exhaust still installed. Video will be posted tonight of the dyno runs with the headers installed so you can get an idea of how it sounds. :chevy:

GigaHz 05-28-2009 04:52 PM

GOD! If I can get a blower with a CARB number, swap pulleys to boost to 10 psi and get more than 550 RWHP through manifolds, I'm definately sold!!! Show me a couple more independent dyno' runs, equipped similarly, and I won't have anything to complain about (not that I had anyways :D).

that is just crazy. Forget the Z28 when you can do something like this cheaper than what a z would cost from a dealership

This definitely challanges that age old thought that a "Roots" supercharger is not efficient.. It has been said that the ladder goes Centrifugal, screw, roots.....well I got news for you, the HYBRID roots supercharger is in the house and its name is Magna Charger.

Be prepared for BIGGER numbers utilizing this supercharger, there are people working on it as we speak :)

Brian -

Can I stop by your place next time I am out in CA? e.g. Are you open to the public to stop in? (Or at least a rabid horsepower junkie?) Last out there in mid-April and must have driven right by your place while going from Chatsworth (actually Woodland Hills) to Santa Barbara on the 101.

Sounds like the best set up will be 6psi with LT's, Hiflow cats, and exhaust...probably something like 550-560rwhp, and IMHO alot safer than 600rwhp @ 10psi. But again, for those willing to do a little extra work, throw on head studs, ARP rod bolts, and dished pistons and run your 10psi on an upgraded fuel system.

Lived in Woodland Hills for 30 years and had a shop in Chatsworth! :)

We have an open door policy, just arrange a visit with me and you are in :)
