This car need the stripes imo.

When I went to the dealer to buy mine, I didn't feel the need for stripes. I got a good deal on this one and the stripes are growing on me. My stripes are a little different than usual, in fact they look as one owner posted, looks like it drove under a paint machine. Also it is the same scheme as the Indy pace car. I get alot of looks and love my Camaro!!

You have to be a ford fan to like roof stripes!!!!! apparently you are fairly young and do not know the heritage of Camaro stripes, Hood and trunk only, but to each his own. Oh yea, I love them the way they are!!!!

:word:

Agreed. One of the things the Mustang has done better than the Camaro. Stripes on the hood and decklid, and not on the roof [regardless of manufacturer] = Fail.

I am a "Ford" fan, at the tender age of 43. I'm well aware of the Camaro's "heritage", and it still looks like ass. That's why neither of my previous Camaros had them.

Striped muscle cars sell better at Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions.

I wasn't sure on the stripes initially... Ordered the black rally stripes for my CGM thinking they would be subtle anyway. Then I actually saw the stripes and they were natte finish - have never seen anything but shiny stripes.. But after a week or two, they started to grow on me.

Full body stripes (in my opinion) were introduced by Mustang and although they look nice, that's where they belong. The Camaro old school stripes were done right for the Camaro.. But again, to each their own... When I see a Camaro now without stripes, it looks naked to me. Still nice nonetheless.

GFX, I was bummed that I couldn't afford (didn't think it was worth the money) the extra $2250 for them, when all I really wanted was the rectangle tail pipes. I don't like the big, low chin - my luck I'd mash it into a curb.

Hey, the OP asked, be respectful - he's just looking for your opinions. :D

that's the great thing about the new camaro.................it looks just as good weither you have the stripes or not.

motorhead 08-15-2010 08:11 PM

For me it depends on the color combo ,but either way I don't like the factory stripes. They screwed up by ending them at the hood. To me it just doesn't like right.

I hate the ground effects much more than stripes. I never wanted stripes on my car, but at least the painted ones that go over the hood and onto the fascia Bumble Bee style aren't too bad. The stock shorter vinyl ones really look cheap.

I like stripes. I have the convertible concept stripes and they went onto the roof at 1st but I took them off because they were installed wrong...
