I was really hoping that when Hurst came out with their Aftermarket "shifter" for the A6 that it would have moved the tap shift, too. but it didnt... so you spend $500 for something to look pretty in your car. pointless.

:word:The CFD shifter looks great, is functional and is about half the price. It's hard to beat that.

Sorry to say, but you're doing it wrong. Try two hands at 9-3 or 10-2 for a while. In addition to perfect access to the paddles you'll find you have far more precise control. It's not that big of a deal for slow around town driving, but it's a really big deal if you're doing any kind of spirited driving.

When I'm using tapshift, I usually steer with my left hand and rest my right hand on the shifter. I've never driven stick, but shifting gears this way feels much more natural. I don't like how the paddle shifters turn with the wheel...just seems awkward to me.

go to sponsor site here on C5 forum;go to shifters/trans/etc and look for Horizon 670 site ; he has developed a new set of paddle shifters for less than $100 and they look cool/small and they work.Better than Hurst paddles.fit directly on the wheel itself after removing the plastic buttons...

These replace the buttons on the back of the wheel. Made by Horizon670 for less than $100 shipped. Far better quality than the Hurst paddle shifters. They don't interfere with the turn signal stick or the wipers. You use a small flat blade screw driver to pop out the factory buttons and pop these paddles in.

I recommend the CFD shifter. I have one myself and definitely think its one of the best mods I have ever done to my car. It makes it so much fun to drive and definitely a lot easier than the shift buttons on the steering wheel.

The CFD is awesome. It makes the car extremely fun to drive around town. Usually once I'm cruising at a constant speed on the highway, I just throw it in S mode.

I have a CFD shifter also. Quality is amazing and I love it!
