If $47k is the real price. Thats way lower than I thought it would be. I was thinking closer to $60k.

Wait til the dealers join the fray, it WILL cost closer to $60K, :slice:

Just another bit of speculation, no?

If the base is at 47K, I'll buy without a doubt.
I'll opt for the leather instead of suede.
The price range of this car should be in the range of the compared GT500.
I can't imagine it being priced outside the competition, that wouldn't make any sense or cents.

You don't have to pay those. Use a car buying service or find a dealer out of state.

Only because idiots pay the markup the dealers try and throw on the cars. Just have to know how to buy a car.

Most people don't make a dealer take the 200 to 300 dealer processing fee. Another bogus fee that has nothing to do with you buying the car.

If GM keeps it below 50 it will sell well, my guess 49k. The only real appealing tech for me is magnetic ride, but I'll have to see how well it puts all the hp to the ground, if it fails the zl1 will be worth less, you can get an aftermarket s/c system for 7k and push 600whp add suspention upgrades and you have a monster.

I agree with you. Waiting to see the track tests and pricing before deciding to sell my SS and getting the ZL-1. Either I will keep my SS and put a twin turbo on it or sell and go with the ZL-1.

I figured we would get a good surprise on the price when the online chat kept revealing things like 'not as rare as the BOSS 302', 'built on main assembly line', etc.

For the masses (well sorta) !!! That's only a few grand less than SRT-8 pricing!

It beats GT500 pricing ???? Wow!!!!

Car and Driver states:

"We’ve learned that the 550-hp 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, introduced today at the Chicago auto show, will wear a base price of around $47,000 when it goes on sale next February."

Even better than the $50,000 estimate!

Start saving your pennies. I am!

Hmm, tags, title and sales tax, still looking at $50k, or 5,000,000 pennies for those that see one lying on the ground. Too rich for my blood. lol

sounds too good to be true.if they sell this car in the 40s,sales should be great.

You compare base price to base price. The GT500 base price is 48,645.
