Meh. I traded my Camaro in for a 2012 Sierra. I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon and when I do, I'll be looking at Ram and Ford.

Meh! I am still going for a current design Dodge Ram w/Cummins diesel.

The new Chevy has that huge front grill and lights just like the current Ford superduty. The GMC's front end looks retro 1973-1979.

Interesting that they finally updated the 4.3L engine. It says it will operate in 4 cylinder mode, seems odd to me, they typically shut off half of the engine in most other applications of afm.

The Silverado reminds me of an 81-88 square and stacked head lights.. Wish they would market a ½ ton diesel.

I like the GMC better. Headlights look much better on that one.

I think they're hideous, they need the top and bottom where the LEDs are to be blacked out or tinted or something, they look sorta ricer IMO

I think the interior looks great. I like the GMC better than the Chevy though.
It's hard to make trucks look drastically different. I think the important thing is how they perform and until we get the numbers the jury's still out I guess. :iono:

I was hoping they would. I love my 13 year old 4.3L. Nice and torquey down low. Glad they didn't just shove the 3.6L in there.

As for the 4cyl mode, it's essentially a 5.3 with 2 less cyl's so they could shut down 2 cyl's and have the same output. It will be interesting to see the power it puts out. I'm thinking around 330hp 345tq. We'll see I guess.

they look exactly the same. and FU to them for not telling us the power.

This is one, a huge bit of information that they don't want competitors to have and two, confirmation that they are still working on those details with many months to go and three, one more bit of info that can be rolled later maintains interest.

Chevy > GMC in this one, however I don't like either headlights.

it was a joke hunky bill. they look the same. VERY mild warm over.

They look nice but they have some serious competition coming up when the all aluminum F-150's come out next year.

Zabo 12-13-2012 12:08 PM

...Why is Sierra still around? Why tie up money/design/engineering in 2 lines when they could concentrate on one with more product depth? No fault on the lack of a turbo 6, ecoboost has been the biggest joke of the last decade. It's like Fords own "Olds Diesel" IMO.

Looks like it's brick inspired. Big square front end seems a bit odd and un-aero.

Hopefully there will be some monster rebates on the '12s/13s.

The new trucks are actually MORE aerodynamic than the GMT-900s.

LOL.. I was thinking Ford. Seems a little squared off like a ford.

I do like the interior...

Hylton 12-13-2012 12:29 PM

I initially thought they shared the same sheetmetal but the GMC has a body line running through the middle of the fender brows.
