In this day in age, with people so - how do I say this - touchy about weapons, someone could be a tator and say it's a "concealed weapon". Odds of someone doing that are low but probably not unheard of.

Why a bat? You should pull out the big guns, like a couple of bowling balls, maybe two-dozen shuttlecocks mounted instead.

Not so much. Pepper spray can actually take someone out of the fight. Stun gun just hurts for a tsecond and pisses most people off. To get a taser like police carry you have to go through a class to be certified with it. Even with that if you don't have a way to detain them after the shock your screwed.

The taser absolutely pissed me off. I was for sure ready to fight afterwards!!!!!

And I LOLed with the "won't a bat poop in your trunk" comment.

Someone high on drugs won't even feel the pepper spray or sometimes even a Tazer, or being shot several times, ever watch Cops or those police video shows when they try to subdue someone on Drugs?

I don't know why it would be a problem. You are allowed to keep an unloaded shot gun in your trunk, why would a bat be an issue. Just tell them it's a conversation piece.

Because a bat is always loaded........:pound:

By the extension of the Castle law. ANYONE is allowed to have any legal weapon in their car as long as it is concealed for protection of self/property and a 3rd partyy(this one is very shaky though). As long as it is not visible. If it is in your globe compartment. And you open it to get your insurance card and you don't close it back. It doesn't count as concealed and controlled. The CHL only apiea to carrying it on your person. But I have mine. And keep a loaded 9mm at all times.

Just keep a ball and glove in the trunk along with the bat. Perhaps throw in a pair of cleats as well. If you are ever questioned about it, you state that you play baseball. What can they say about that?

Hey, just a thought...make sure that the strong arms on the trunk can handle the weight of the bat. Those things seem pretty sensitive at times.

The closer you mount it to the pivot point the less effect it will have.

I have a trunk monkey, why can't he have a bat?

Because he might pull the release cable and run amok among the populace.

just as an example, don't really want to get into any debates right now, but Aurora CO was rated one of the best places to live in the US in 2011. I'm sure there were a whole lot of people that were saying the same thing as you. "been here my whole life, no need to weapons of any kind", etc. 2012, shooting in the theatre. not saying a bat or any kind of weapon could have prevented that, just saying, you always think you are safe, until you're not. would you rather be someone prepared, or not prepared at all? Is all i'm really getting at.
