In this day in age, with people so - how do I say this - touchy about weapons, someone could be a tator and say it's a "concealed weapon". Odds of someone doing that are low but probably not unheard of.

Why a bat? You should pull out the big guns, like a couple of bowling balls, maybe two-dozen shuttlecocks mounted instead.

By the extension of the Castle law. ANYONE is allowed to have any legal weapon in their car as long as it is concealed for protection of self/property and a 3rd partyy(this one is very shaky though). As long as it is not visible. If it is in your globe compartment. And you open it to get your insurance card and you don't close it back. It doesn't count as concealed and controlled. The CHL only apiea to carrying it on your person. But I have mine. And keep a loaded 9mm at all times.

Just keep a ball and glove in the trunk along with the bat. Perhaps throw in a pair of cleats as well. If you are ever questioned about it, you state that you play baseball. What can they say about that?

Hey, just a thought...make sure that the strong arms on the trunk can handle the weight of the bat. Those things seem pretty sensitive at times.
