Also, anyone in the Florida or Michigan area get a dealer to honor the Credit Union discount? So I know who to go to and who not?

You have to go look at the GM list of Credit Unions, not all CU's are on there. Join one on the list if you have to.

the credit union pricing is what gm labels a formula price (i.e. gms: gm employee pricing, gsu: gm supplier pricing, etc.) that pricing does cost the dealership from the standpoint that the reimbursement that gm gives the dealer is not equal to the discount given to the customer.

as far as gm cardmember earnings go, the only card that is compatible with a formula price is the gm extended family card. it is a limited earnings card that at 1% earnings takes quite a while to accrue a real savings.

hopefully this clears up any questions on these programs.

Scotty, is Credit Union Discount pricing the same discount as Supplier? I can use either one but the GM web site has me down for the Credit Union discount. Its a great deal, I will save around 1,250.00, plus my USAA discount.

What is the USAA discount?

Stingray in Plant City Fl. gave us a Credit Union discount of $250.00 by mistake. In doing the paperwork the finance guy put it in the contract and I signed off on it, when the salesman came in later he asked for the pin# and said we weren't supposed to be getting it. The man in finance said too late they would just have to deal with it.

I was not aware of that. I have been with USAA for MANY, MANY years. I will try it.

I've talked to two different dealers now and both have told me they are not willing to apply this deal to the camaro. The dealer I did end up going with gave me some other $250 credit union discount though

Thanks for the advertisement for saving on 2008 and 2009 Camaros.

That's useful.

One last time.... The 2010 Camaro DOES QUALIFY for employee and supplier pricing. The dealer DOES NOT have to honor that pricing.

VenomZ302 07-20-2009 02:57 PM

I'm proof that the Camaro is eligible. I just spoke with my dealer and, lo and behold, they're honoring not only the Credit Union Member discount but also the USAA member discount. So that's pretty freaking awesome.

FLYNNZL1 07-20-2009 03:17 PM

I am shooting for both my self, that's about $2,000 off MSRP! :)

Teddydog 07-20-2009 05:57 PM

Great thread! I am eligible for both the credit union and the USAA discounts as well, but didn't know about them. I'd have paid too much! Are these both good when ordering from the factory as well (assuming I find a dealer to accept them)?

Rob
