2002-2005 exact body on 1/2 tons. 2006-2008 facelift. 2009 up new body on 1/2 tons.

I was recently given a newer dodge ram while my camaro was in the shop. I had a 4 door cab and a 6 cylinder engine. I took it up to Tahoe and it struggled. The thing only had 250 miles on it but it wasn't enough power. If your going to get one, get the big one.

if it was the magnum motors 4.7L or 5.9L then yes pure crap.

however the biggest issues aren't the motors, it is the hybrid canbus electrical systems borrowed from MBZ and cross-bred with existing Chrysler LLC technology. some MBZ parts, some Chrysler, some left over $hit in parts bins from past years models that were mixed and matched. Early 1/2 year model builds with different parts than the later 1/2 year that aren't compatible, etc.

What? Only problem with the 5.9 was that it was a gas hog. The 4.7 high output in my Dakota has 160k miles and the only reason the original 4.7 went out was because the previous owner ran a 175 HP of nitrous through a dry kit and killed a cylinder. Actually it had just ruined a plug and he thought it had killed a cylinder, so he decided to run some more nitrous through and finished it. Brothers GC also had 200k on his original 4.7 and transmission, he regrets selling it for his CTS, but that is how it goes. Can't really say anything on the 360 in his Dakota RT though since it has not been a 360 for a long time, it is now a Hughes Engineering 426 stroker. Have not really heard of any electrical issues in their trucks either, though the GC was a 01 and the Dakotas are 99 and 01s respectively and would all been designed per Daimler, though my Patriot never any electrical issues and had 110k miles on it.

They are asking almost $60k for that fully loaded beast around here. I only buy the SLT or ST for work, they go for around $32k.

California has that GOUGE CLAUS, $12K mark ups on the new trucks and then they drop $10k off sticker at the end of the year to sell them.

12k sure would be worth the flight over to md.. Lol. Be a nice road trip home though... Wouldn't have to worry about break in miles. Lol

The heavy dutys almost always carry over the older body for another year. The 2002 3/4 and 1 ton kept the old design one more year as they did in 2009.
