Magic and I are looking at September for the Crestview meet.

Holt this weekend?

Just wondering if anyone was hitting the track this weekend? My car hasn't sold yet and my rear tires are about gone so I am looking to finish them up at the track before I put the new ones on. Is friday the only day to run for fun?

Doug

I think Sam is trying to put something together in Orange Beach for September, since November is back in Tally. Do you guys want August??

Majic 07-27-2011 08:09 PM

It'd be awesome if the August meet was before the 17th :D

We are out of town on Aug.13th - Aug.21ft.

Ahh.. Well as long as Auburn has an away game whenever we plan it ;)

*edit: Football season doesnt start until Sept. 3rd, so we're good for any August weekend.

Hello, just moved to Enterprise AL from Arizona.

I am looking for a wheel repair shop in the area that can fix a warped aluminum 18x10" wheel with a polish finish. I might ber interested in powder coating them too.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,

Ray

Well, I just got home from running at Holt raceway...yup, it's 1:11am...they close at 11:oopm. Didn't go to the bar, didn't go to get something to eat...nope, just waited for a trailer to get my car home. At the beginning of the night I was running 8.6, 8.4 and then towards the end of the night she ran 8.3 then a couple at 8.2. ....and then, after a long night of running my baby, I left the track, went down to highway 90 and made a right to head back towards Crestview. I guess I didn't get it all out of me so I jumped on the throttle and took my darlin to redline, mashed the shifter into 2nd....and then it happened..........BOOM! A HUGE BOOM, the shifter jumped up a few inches and it was all over! I'm pretty sure I either broke a gear or possibly the shaft...no, not the driveshaft...something inside the transmission exploded! :(

So, my buddy called a friend with a trailer, 10 guys came out of the bar to help push her onto the trailer, and then.........CRUNCH!.:yikes:......yup, you guessed it......ran the car right into the rail on the trailer.

It gets better.

We got her loaded, tied down and got her home. We unloaded her and put her in the driveway. Well now you see, my daily driver is currently broken so my buddy said I could use his Intrepid to make parts runs and such. When we went to pull out of the yard to take him home so I could have his car.....CRUNCH!......:mad0260:

Backed his Intrepid into a telephone pole!

So not only do I have transmission work to do, but now I have body work to do on TWO cars!! :suicide:

That was one expensive night at the track!

But hey, they did give me a military discount to get in!:army:
