They would have to turbo charge if for me to consider it.

Either way... I think that DI 6 is keeping secrets from us so far.

I would agree with that. I haven't heard of anyone really pushing one yet. There has to be one out there but I haven't seen it yet.

Ok, instead of "whining" about LSA, LS9, LS7, of a to be created 4.0 SIDI Twin Turbo, lets look at this.

Assume the following for an LS3 SS:

0 - 60 4.8 Seconds

1/4 mile 13.0 Seconds at 108

Nurbergring 8 minutes 30 Seconds

What would you like to see a Z28 do for each of those 3?

AHAHA my idea of the 4.0l twin turbo DI v8 is alive and well.

0-60 = 4.3sec
1/4 mile = 12.25-12.50
nurbergiring = 8 minutes 12 seconds. to knock 30 plus seconds off that lap time would need some serious tickering

0-60: sub 4-seconds
1/4: in 12 flat - 12.2
Slalom of 70mph+
Skidpad reading of .98-1+ Gs

The last two I added because they better represent the vehicle I'm looking for, and I've lost interest in 'Ring times. They really don't mean anything, and on a course over 11 miles long...there are a LOT of variables to contend with.

:D Testing the waters, are you, 3?

Everytime I see this thread the header says... Schno's house of........

I'm in for these stats!:headbang::drinking:::drool::w00t::thumbup:;):m

"Testing the waters, are you, 3?" My guess is it is killing him as much as it is shnOmac.

LOL, that's funny...........I created this thread to try to ease his pain. Ha! Which reminds me of the line from Field of Dreams, "Ease his Pain".

Which just plain gets to "Build it, and he will come".

;)

Lingenfelter is working on a belt driven turbo setup on the V6, I'm curious to see what they come up with :w00t:

I'd buy one for sure if these were close to the stats.

The ironic truth to this statement is blaring! LOL! Who would've thought (number 3 did :D) that a thread created to "ease" Sho's pain would in fact, nurture and increase it?!?!

Z-28 Request

Given that the first Z/28 was a vin code for a performance package to compete in the Trans Am racing with a limit on HP, my request would be this:

1. Eaton four rotor SC DI V-6 with 415 Hp.
2. Pedders Coil over suspension Lowered 1.5 inches.
3. Low restriction Cats and exhaust.
4. Z/28 spoiler similar to the dovetail.
5.Z/28 unique front fascia
6. Custom colors like Dupont hot hues or house of kolors.
7. Z/28 badging on outside and interior.
8. Z/28 special wheels.
This car would be priced somewhere between a fully loaded 2LT and 2SS.

Anything with more HP and equipment than a 2SS let's just call it a ZL1.

Imo

Well said.

I would also add dry sump, fuel pickup, 2pc. front rotors, SS brake lines, Recaro seats, 18" wheels, ... perf. bushings, quick ratio steering, (This car is getting expensive!) ... sequential gearbox, racing pedals :D

That is called a supercharger. There is no such thing as a belt driven turbocharger.

A 4.0L motor from GM would most likely be based on the LLT which can be pushed out to those dimensions. It is cheaper and more practical at that displacement to make the engine a 6 cylinder.
