Just a Skidmark 09-20-2008 07:40 PM

I'm excited about the fuel door

CamaroDude 09-20-2008 07:41 PM

Yeah i think the gas door is all that i would really "Need" for now

AZCamaroFan 09-20-2008 07:46 PM

That's cool that GM is getting on the aftermarket bandwagon a little more. Personally , i like the clean look of the car without all that stuff. But hey, i see lots of Chevy trucks with different grilles, wheels, etc, and mustangs too. To each their own.

Moose 09-20-2008 07:47 PM

Thank you GM for offering such a wide range of accessories for Camaro's owners to personalize their rides.

I see some I like, some I don't, but I think it's GREAT we're being offered accessories from GM. Thank You!

fireresq157 09-20-2008 07:54 PM

accessories

I agree some are ok, I personaly hate batwings. If you do all the exterior stuff you've gone too riceiii. Anyhow good way for GM to make some extra money to keep the car around this time.

2kwik 09-20-2008 07:55 PM

OMG... Nearly a two year wait for HUD... Might have to pass

GameOver620 09-20-2008 07:57 PM

gm is doing everything right with these accessories. i couldn't ask for anything more. i just wish it was 2009

GM keeps dragging their feet , I think they believe in the old strategy of slowly improving the model year after year. They do this to keep interest and sales up. What they don't realize is that the car hasn't been around for almost 7 years, and they guys that normally upgrade every few years because on new features aren't for the most parts driving camaros anymore. Almost anyone looking into this car segment is going to want one from the beginning and this may cause waiting lists that may spill over in interest for several years. I don't see sales volumes dipping significantly till after 3 years, baring fuel prices changing drastically. Just introduce the model with the most current appeal. Don't use 10 year old technology 2 years from now and try to pass it off as innovation. There's no reason all these future features I.E. heads up, convertible would be available from the beginning. It seams to me the Volt was put on the fast track given the technological challenge witch should have added extra development time and the camaro wasn't. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining just frustrated to wait almost 4 years and maybe 5 or more for those of us that want a vert. Remember word of the concept started hitting the web around Oct of 2005. and that's after 4 to 6 months of development.

FenwickHockey65 09-20-2008 08:18 PM

I want that exhaust.

heavyt100 09-20-2008 08:27 PM

What are the colors for the:

- Hood and hockey stripes

- Rallye stripes

Angrybird 12 09-20-2008 08:28 PM

Love the grill I hope it is going to be available, I can just imaging it with either a old school SS or RS emblem in the middle of it:w00t:

I really wish it was a true dual exhaust :( maybe the one pictured is for the v6.

Completely agree.

I assumed that was for the V6 (if not the lowest V6- LS).

It's been mentioned too many times that the Camaro would have true dual exhaust.

MajorTom 09-20-2008 08:48 PM

That exhaust infuriates me. My GTO came stock with 2 pipes going into a resonator, then two pipes coming out of the resonator into two mufflers into two exits. Why would they offer that one piece straight back from the cats into one muffler deal? The old ones had that. I would've thought they would've improved that design.

I really hope that was just a stock photo.

Ah. That makes me feel better. Thanks for that.

JiXeR'z DoDgE/FoRd KiLLeR 09-20-2008 08:51 PM

I really only want leather, I either want the yellow or orange interior, Hid headlamps, racing stripes and maybe hockey stripes, And HUD...Anyone know about how much the hud will be???

flaguy 09-20-2008 09:02 PM

That's really disappointing. The ground effects was the major accessory I was planning on getting....that's just too boy racer/ricey for me. Oh well, if that is the only thing I can complain about...no biggie. I'm sure there will be lots of after market gfx.

I wonder how they're gonna fit that big sub through that tiny trunk opening lol.

16yearoldcamarodriver 09-20-2008 09:04 PM

That Looks Amazing!

GameOver620 09-20-2008 09:13 PM

is there going to be more info released tomorrow?

Dan 09-20-2008 09:15 PM

Are these going to be available as factory options? If so I see them doing a heck of a lot more special orders to get what you want, no dealer could cover all that.

69copo 09-20-2008 09:19 PM

I have personallly always liked the ground effects and have been hoping for them since the first spy shots 6 months back. I even like the highrise spoiler/wing on the back. The idea that it is to ricer is upsetting to me. This is no Honda Civic! I can see how having this would benefit the performace of this car. Downforce anyone? The rear diffuser is sick and makes the view the imports see even more menacing. We have beat them at there own game and hopefully brought some of our misguided youth back to the Generals Army. Of corse it's just my opinion and I could be wrong.........

MCMLXIX 09-20-2008 09:20 PM

I was hoping there would be some LED taillights (like Cadillac)... I think they would compliment the HIDs up front... Maybe the aftermarket will come up with something....

munkee drummer 09-20-2008 09:32 PM

TOOOOOOOOOOOO many things make it look too much like a mustang. Fuel Door and some interior stuff for me thank you.

Mindz 09-20-2008 09:32 PM

My question is...

Are the stripe and hockey stick painted but the rally stripes vinyl, or is every graphic on the car going to be vinyl?

What is the third color of the hood and hockey stripe? Thught only white and cyber gray were offered.

Also, which spoiler is coming with the RS spoiler or the SS/RS?

And finally Why does the catback exhaust show a single exhaust instead of true duals? Please tell me that's for the v6.

ANSWERS!!!!!! It's bad enough that I couldn't go, but now to be left with all the questions?!?!?! You guys are as bad as Scott. :chevy:

Sarge54 09-20-2008 09:33 PM

Too bad HUD is a long ways off.

There isn't enough force on the rear of the car for downforce to be a factor until (I would guess) over 100mph. Also, downforce works by creating drag. That is pretty much the last thing I want at the track.

I don't doubt the concept of being ricer upsets you...weren't you posting about putting lambo doors on your new Camaro? I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, it's your car and this is America. But in my opinion, yes, that is rice.

logan1080 09-20-2008 10:34 PM

Don't know about the ground effects, i dont think the car needs it.

headpunter 09-20-2008 10:42 PM

i was actually sitting at the table with the John Cox the guy in charge of the accessories, and i have some bad news that hurt me deeply

the victory red interior lighting set has been cancelled....

ZeeTwentyFour 09-20-2008 10:45 PM

WOW just WOW. First I want to thank the people who were able to attend Indy and are taking pictures and sending the folks at home play by play updates. I have a few questions though. all the performance parts mentioned, particularly the headers, are those for both V6 and V8? and what are the colors for the stripes and engine covers?

On the GMC Acadia the HUD is a $340 option, I would assume it would cost the same on the Camaro. Big bummer that people have to wait over a year to get the HUD option though, really lame. :mad0260:

BTW, no news on the Supercharger huh?

I wonder if that is something that can be installed by a dealer later?

That sucks, that is the one I like the best.

Can someone get better pictures of just the cars in the top picture of each banner. I am curious as to what all the pointer lines say.

The scary thing is that the way the market is going,we dont know how long a V8 will be available,or how high gas prices could sore.im not trying to be doom and gloom,but..this might force me to either get one before H.U.D comes out and be pissed when it does come out.Or...look to the Vette or the G8 GXP.
