How many out there are from Kansas?

<-- Wichita Kansas

aldaron327 01-26-2009 11:31 AM

I'm in Abilene, currently.

The_Blur 01-26-2009 11:32 AM

I'm currently in Lawrence. Look for the Subaru Impreza wagon with a cracked windshield. It's green.

OH!! LOL. I was actually searching the section for it :drinking:

JayhawkSS 01-27-2009 12:32 PM

I'm from Olathe, Kansas. I have lived all around KC though.

Question: Since all of you know what the weather is like in Kansas, who thinks I need a second car for winter driving?

383ss 01-27-2009 04:22 PM

winters in KC are pretty weak. There will only be about 2 weeks of the year you can't drive your car.

Ject 01-27-2009 04:59 PM

lol I'd have to disagree. The weather itself isn't all that bad but the Roads suck horribly. They don't manage them well here in Wichita and when they do manage them... you are guaranteed some paint chip and dings for at least 2 weeks time from all the salt/gravel they lay on the road until it blows away.

I highly recommend a cheap daily driver if you can afford it.. especially for winter time because of all the reasons to harm your car.

JayhawkSS 01-27-2009 05:53 PM

Not to mention the corrosive salt and chemicals they put on the roads to melt ice. I'm not worried about control, but I always want my baby to look good. I'm either keeping my SUV or getting a cheap truck.

 right on. Im keeping my truck as a daily driver.. or when its bad outside / crap on roads... or rainy.

Man, cats out of the bag now! I was working for Don Hattan Chevrolet, but it got to slow over there. I sold 5 Camaros through them, and had to give them up. Now I am at Rusty Eck Ford... Trust me I didn't want to swich but sometimes it is just how it is in sales, I have to eat ya know! I have not order my Camaro yet, because I was at a Chevy store and wanted to take car of customers first. Money became an issue, slow store= no money, but I have cured that part now. With 11,000 on order there is no way I will get mine before next winter, so I will wait and see what goodies next modle year brings. Another reason for the swich a slight promotion to the internet dep.

What dealership did you order from? Please don't say Joe Self!

HAHA Oh Good Lord no.. I talked with them but I really dis-like all their sales people. Talked to some guy named Big Al ? and he seems fake.

Ordered mine from Davis Moore, bought my '04 pickup there as well. Im outside the allocation but I don't care, just means more time to save the green $$

You would be correct Big Al has gottin me a lot of sales because he such a dumb ass! LOL! I like Davis-Moore I thought about working there, but the traffic here at Rusty's is good. I don't know I feel kind of like a traitor, I don't like it. I had a couple of people that order out side of allocations, and a couple of more that where seriously considering it. Man I wish I could still deliver those vehicle and watch all these grown men turn into kids.

OMG, big Al?!?!?! He is the epitome of a used car salesman. I can't stand him. All he cared about was follow on business. I would never go back there just to avoid him.

shanewittman 01-29-2009 05:49 PM

Originally from Scipio, KS, moved to Orlando, FL then moved back to Kansas and currently live in Gardner, KS (just outside of KC). I am dang tired of this cold, crappy weather, however, so hope to move back to Florida as soon as I can.

Ject 01-29-2009 08:14 PM

Joe Self (Big Al) wouldn't tell me what they allocation was, i asked several times in about a 2 min convo with him.. its like its a secret I guess? I just wanted to compared who got the biggest allocation in Wichita area. lol and ye I know what you all mean... the dude just rubbed me wrong like he was trying to hard.. and was a big fake. lol

+1000 for Davis Moore.

Too bad you work for a Ford Dealer lol.. I'd of bought the camaro from yeah.. (if coulda got msrp + some kinda discount lol) I help those who help me, don't mind paying sticker if the sales guy isn't a total Jack@ss and is honest and is a real person.

JayhawkSS 01-30-2009 06:38 PM

I ordered from Superior Chevrolet in Shawnee, KS. I was the 16th out of 20 allocations.

aldaron327 02-01-2009 01:43 PM

I still haven't ordered yet because I have about 8 1/2 months left of service in the Army. I'm planning on sticking around after that if I can find work. I think that if you're going to invest some dollars in a Camaro then you should definitely get a "beater" or something for the winters. My Trailblazer SS flat sucks in the little bit of snow we've gotten (2WD...not the AWD version) but I think much of that is to be blamed on the crappy OE tires on that thing coupled with a serious amount of on again/off again torque management by the "stabilitrack" and traction control system.

For the guys a little closer than KC: are there any reputable performance shops in central KS? I can't seem to find anything online.

Can't wait... Davis Moore in Wichita said that my order will be released in the 2nd production month.... should be exciting.

camaroguy 02-11-2009 09:58 PM

I'm in Olathe, Ordered over at Morse Chevolet in Overland Park- I'm the second of their allocation. :DNot sure of how many they have though...

spi 02-27-2009 11:06 AM

i'm in Pittsburg, KS and i ordered mine through Molle-MC out of Pittsburg

soverydeb 03-13-2009 11:56 PM

I'm in Wichita as well...I ordered from Davis-Moore, have you been able to get ANY info out of them? They are nice, but in the dark when it comes to the CAMARO.

fonegod1 03-14-2009 12:46 AM

Grew up in Topeka, now live in Tulsa Oklahoma. Ordered from Jim Glover here in Tulsa. GO KU!!!

soverydeb 03-29-2009 10:06 PM

has any KANSAS people heard any news about their CAMARO??

Chevy45 03-30-2009 11:31 PM

2010 Camaro allocation

I still have 1 allocation unspoken for. Build it how you want. All KC Chevy dealers should have a Camaro by early May.

soverydeb 03-31-2009 02:01 PM

that surprises me that you still have an allocation left...

383ss 03-31-2009 02:24 PM

guessing about a month for mine.

soverydeb 03-31-2009 10:54 PM

I'm thinking I need to take a trip down to the dealership this week....

spi 04-01-2009 05:22 PM

i just call my dealership every week on thursday because thats when they do their PASS ONE

Camaro509 04-08-2009 05:21 PM

Hey. I work at the hospital there...still haven't see Michael Vick yet.

DragonCamaro 04-13-2009 04:44 PM

Mulvane, KS so when did you guys all order? I ordered in Dec08 and my TPW is this week...anyone know when they pull orders so I know if mine got pulled this week. I would ask the dealership but they don't seem to know much....

soverydeb 04-13-2009 11:59 PM

I ordered in Oct...who are you going with? I went with Davis-Moore.

DragonCamaro 04-14-2009 09:29 AM

I went with Pfaff's Chevy in Mulvane but all the information about where my cars at i got from GM Customer Service because my dealer seems to be out of the loop or are choosing to not keep the customers informed for whatever reason...So i am going to call GM again tomorrow and see if it got pulled or not.

soverydeb 04-14-2009 10:30 AM

I get much of the same with my dealer. I hate not knowing anything...or more than them due to this forum...I'm also skeptical of calling the 1-800 number since many on here have had bogus answers. SO who do you believe? Anyway, May 6th is truly right around the corner at this point.

DragonCamaro 04-14-2009 12:56 PM

That is true. I just talked to GM Customer Service and mine has picked up according to their system. If that's true then HELL YEAH!!!! but makes me wonder whats going on with people that ordered before me.....

soverydeb 04-14-2009 04:42 PM

I know...lots of misinformation. However if it's true, then, YAY FOR YOU! I found out this afternoon that Davis-Moore had 3 already picked up for production..I'm number 7. I also was told by the GM no less, that the orders are going by preorder number, just so it's fair for everyone. I'm am breathing a looong sigh of relief as well, due to the fact that 1 of the 3 picked was a 2LT...which I have ordered, so not ALL the cars being built are only 2SS's! So, things are starting to look up!
