ok its not a grocery getter

went out & did some shopping, did a job fair & went Grocery shopping & spent like $500 & the camaro does not haul that much.

lol

Bonanza7 04-15-2011 11:48 PM

Hmmm... if the items aren't too bulky for the trunk opening, I can haul a ton of stuff. Long table, two folding chairs, big tool box, 3 R/C race car set ups plus room to spare.

WICG2772 04-15-2011 11:54 PM

Well, I'll be testing it tomorrow....I am picking up a bike for my daughter.

Skill377 04-15-2011 11:58 PM

I didn't know Camaro's trunk is made to fit $500 dollars worth of groceries?

Taintedveins 04-16-2011 12:02 AM

Seats fold down so i am all good :P Camaros don't go to walmart that is rule one my friend then rule two is never buy too much.

its not, he even had the back seat down lol, still things coming forward lol.

ok a full case of cream of mushrooms soap,a case of tunafish , two cases of olives, 20lbs of of ground turkey, two big things of liquid laundry soap, 2 gallons of milk & thats just the big stuff lol

Skill377 04-16-2011 12:10 AM

wow imagine going to Costco with a Camaro! You probably need to make few trips back and forth to get all the items back!

Steve Dallas 04-16-2011 12:27 AM

I've had no problem putting 4-6 bags of groceries in mine...

Oddball 04-16-2011 12:32 AM

REALLY?!:iono::facepalm:

Kurushio 04-16-2011 12:34 AM

It's only a couple cubic feet short of most sedans really. I think the camaro has about 11 cubic feet and maybe a big trunk on a car would be about 14-15. Thats still pretty decent. Try getting 500 worth of groceries in a 4th gen lol.

Someone needs to refine her packing skills. I suggest Tetris.

I put my sons bike in the trunk all the time! I have to remove the front wheel but it'll get inn there!

daveagogo1 04-16-2011 08:59 AM

It works just fine as a grocery getter. NOT for someone buying in massive bulk. Then again buying $500 of food in one shot isn't exactly within the norm of grocery shopping.

oldsmobubble 04-16-2011 09:03 AM

2 sets of golf clubs and a cooler full of beer

Synyster 04-16-2011 09:03 AM

lol every other day I'm out running errands. Don't get too many groceries though :P

INTIMIDAT3R 04-16-2011 09:12 AM

That's funny, 'cuz my '10 LT/RS & '11 2SS/RS are the fastest grocery getters in town. :headbang:

brantley847 04-16-2011 09:31 AM

You guys are so foolish...clearly none of you went with the grocery getter option on the 2SS or LT....

...shame on you all now. It was well worth the tree fiddy I spent...

E.T. 04-16-2011 09:48 AM

Trunk isn't actually a bad size, and the folding seats are nice. The real problem is that the trunk opening is just too small! I'm not hauling stuff anyway, so no biggie to me. I bought a pair of floorstanding speakers a while back and they barely fit.

Mr.Bowtie 04-16-2011 09:50 AM

At todays prices 500 bucks worth of groceries isn't that much.

Ladybugsmom 04-16-2011 09:52 AM

A Costco run is NOT your basic grocery trip....

Topher5000 04-16-2011 09:54 AM

I fit 8-1/2 empty cases of beer in mine a while back.

Getz SS 04-16-2011 10:08 AM

I always find it kind of funny when I am wheeling a shopping cart full of groceries out to my camaro...especially since i always park at the far end of the parking so my car is usually by itself.

Fogey 04-16-2011 01:07 PM

Two issues...

1. opening is too small for my big red cooler. Hand to buy a smaller one.
2. Don't you guys putting bikes in there worry about screwing up the speakers and wires hanging down? The speaker stuff needs a cover

I easily get twice the groceries if not more from shopping at the Commissary. Military Commissaries do not have to make a profit, which by the way is government mandated. If they lose money so what. The military exchanges on the other hand have to make a profit. If they don't they can be shut down.

eflynnbot 04-16-2011 03:38 PM

Beside the oh so obvious how much junk can you stuff in her trunk jokes, I would urge you to go on a diet. You just ate a brand new CAI! Instead of stockin up on HO HO's put that money back into mods. Somebody needs to set your priorities straight.

just joking of course. buy all the Ho Ho's you want.

joking not aside, I have two teenage kids that need to be feed. & one that can eat 24hrs aday & not put an oz of weight on. & no junk food was in that but stuff for easter. hell when does 20lbs of ground turkey became junk food, Hell I dont even shop at normal stores unless I have a boat load of coupons.

SlingShot 04-16-2011 03:51 PM

I put about $200 worth every week in mine without any problems. I did learn you have to tie the bags though or by the time I get home, everything is rolling around in the trunk.

Zhawk 04-16-2011 04:10 PM

You guys have never been grocery shopping with me. I get a LOT of groceries for the buck. We really filled up the Camaro with groceries. It all fit, but it was close.

And sheesh, a sense of humour from some of you would be nice. lol

Lazerbrainz2k3 04-16-2011 04:46 PM

I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of $500 worth of groceries. Me, I have trouble getting to $100, and no trouble getting that in the car, rear seat up. That's the advantage of being young, single, and childless, I guess. lol

No really. I was kidding. I thought the Junk in the Trunk comment set that tone. but my apologies.

But holy crap that is a lot of ground turkey. What do you make with that much?
