Ouch! :yikes: Man, I hate to see this happen... but I watched it twice.

This has shown up on here before. People commented on the fat guy over the rearend and the shift light being on for a good while before the motor cooked. :yikes: Sucks for that owner.

He removed the limiter and spun the 5.4 to hard. He already had a MMR built/prepped shortblock waiting to go in. Supposed to be good to 2,000hp.

Car had a 2.8 Kenne Bell. Said he was running 24 pounds of boost and at 6500rpm #4 rod let go.

rpm is the enemy of GT500's. thats a gt500 engine not a cobra. those heads have rectangular intake ports. thats an 5.4 NVH iron block.


everyone knows the rpm limits of the stock short block. i wonder why folks keep trying to rev it past 6100. the iron block has 1250hp limits anyway. the cylinders move around at that level.

I don't think the guy strapped it to the dyno and said lets blow this sucker up. I think he was just pushing the car because he knew he was about to make some big changes.

I had someone at our AIR CARE inspection system do that to my god damn 69 tbird. ****er threw it into park with the back wheels still turning. So lucky it didnt chunk. Guy didnt even say sorry.
