North Dakota Camaro's

I live between fargo and grand forks and have a IOM 2SS/RS ordered at Rydells in grand forks due to them being $500 under msrp! I know Gateway in fargo has gotten a few in already, yellow SS, red SS, yellow LT, and a belive a silver one. Anyone on here that lives in ND get their camaro yet?

Got1-4mywife 05-18-2009 02:18 PM

Got1-4mywife 05-20-2009 11:09 AM

NOT, was two other cars that were ordered after mine....dang

Speed74SS 06-04-2009 06:08 PM

One of my relatives got a call today that his Cyber Gray 2SS is in at the Bismarck dealership. He is in TX right now and I think the dealer will have it until next week sometime.

Nodakfiesta 06-06-2009 12:23 AM

Picked up 6-4-09

Took delivery of a Black 2SS at 1:00 pm on 6-4-09 from Rydells in Grand Forks. Went down to Fargo for cruise night after pickup and boy was there people interested in the car. It was a good cruise night as a nice night for driving and parking on Broadway.

Ordered the day after Thanksgiving, produced 5-20 and delivered to Rydells on 6-3-09. Another 2SS made before mine was picked an hour before I got there. Both cars came on the same truck.

Will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to get them off my wife's camera. The car is worth the wait.

Snow Tires Go On August 1st Right?

Dang, I remember not so much the cold of ND (lived there 2 years, 4 days), but the dang mosquitos that consumed the bumper, grille and windshield of my cars. Send pics when you get your car with all the skeeters.

Silveradohdltz 06-24-2009 11:01 PM

900 miles of bugs got washed off about 5 minutes before these pictures were taken. We had snow here on ND June 6.

iom5gen 07-17-2009 10:04 AM

IOM 2SS,auto,RS package w/black rs stripes

Have had mine for 4 weeks now and just love it! Getting blamed for every set of black marks in town now though.

ndcyberss 07-17-2009 11:22 AM

I picked up my cyber grey 2ssrs on June 10 and have about 1200 miles on already, great car love it. I ordered it Oct. 13 2008 from Dean Bender Chevrolet in Killdeer.

North Dakota. Spent alot of time in Hazelton- MOM was raised there. Awful dam cold. Must only get 5 good months of normal weather. Curious- what do they do to the roads to keep em clear when it snows? Hopefully won't make these cars rust-buckets

Tanner 09-11-2009 10:09 AM

I'm from Valley City originally. North Dakota uses sand on their highways and streets for the ice and snow. Many people from northern states go there to buy older cars because salt is not used. Salt on the streets causes a lot of rust problems. Yes it's cold up there.

Just a little update- my car started production today :) I'm expecting it at the end of the month! Anyone that has ordered from Rydell- do you just have to ask them to keep the front license plate bracket off or?

sparks73 10-25-2009 08:51 PM

Representing western ND here, own Rally Yellow 2SS.
Bought from Dean Bender Killdeer ND
Bowman is home...

I can't say for sure about Rydell's. I told Gateway (in Fargo) NOT to mount the plate bracket and they were good about it. I would definitely give them specific instructions or you'll end up with holes in your bumper!!! Also, tell them to leave everything wrapped in plastic (as delivered). I told Gateway not even to wash it. The build sheet is taped to the plastic bag containing the floor mats in the trunk...you want to keep this!!! Very good for documentation!!!
Good Luck with delivery!!!! Congratulations!!!! Give your car a very thorough lookover before accepting!!! By the way, what did you order??

Later.....

Hey, sorry it took so long, haha I got a CGM 2SS. I also have another question- is there any stations around here that offer above 91 octane? Thanks a bunch- later.

Would be an awesome stop before you head to Sabin for the drag strip! Do you know any more about the place in Moorhead?

I'll see what I can find out for you. I know a guy here in Fargo that has a Lamborghini (spelling?), and he has to use 96 octane or higher, so I'll talk to him. I do know that it is extremely expensive, like $7 or $8 a gallon, I think. I'll be in touch...

Thanks man I appreciate it.

The whole Lambo thing reminds me, I heard about the Porsche incident in Fargo too, makes me absolutely sick. Kind of sad when we need to keep the doors locked and guns loaded up here....

GUNNER57 11-05-2009 02:25 PM

I have had my 2SS/RS for about a month now. Lovin it. It is black on black with automatic transmission. Cyber Gray Stripes. Hard to keep the dust off even with a cover and only 101 miles on it.

GUNNER57 11-05-2009 02:31 PM

Also have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 GTP Supercharged, with only 11,225 miles on it. Doesn't quite compare to the Camaro but is still a sweet ride.

Gas station is named Clark (I believe, they have changed hands several times) and it is just north of I-94 off of Hiway 75 (otherwise known as 8th Street South). Last time I was there they had two different grades one was around 108 octane and the other around 115. Could always go to the Hector airport and pick up a drum of 110LL and mix it a bit. Guy I know used put 110LL in his snowmobile , said a 55gal barrel used to last him about a winter. But then his was a straight race sled (Artic Cat 440).

Hi everyone, Fargo ND here...

Anyone know who will have the better deal on ordering a 1SS? Gateway in Fargo or Rydell in Grand Forks?

Hey Slasher,
Fargo here too! When I was pricing my order, both Gateway and Rydell's were the same (MSRP with $1000 deposit). Gateway treated me good, I would recommend them. Last time I was up there, they had five new Camaro's on the lot, but I don't know how many were spoken for. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask. Later....

Hi Blazzin, thanks for the reply :)

I've bought all my vehicles from Gateway in the past. I've always had to do a little wheelin and dealin with them, however....

You're right, gateway has a few on the lot, but no standard 1SS's. I'm sure I'll have to order one in the Spring.

Speed74SS 11-09-2009 09:08 PM

I am interested in seeing if there is 93 Octane anywhere near Fargo also. I am up in Fargo about every week and sometimes with my car. I sure would like to fill up with 93. We have a couple 93 stations in Sioux Falls.

As long as you are not mixing leaded with unleaded. Leaded fuel can cause some bad things to happen to your injectors if used in EFI vehicles (from what I have heard, haven't done any research to back this up). Drove by the gas station this evening and they had 102 and 111. The 111 was off-road use only, guessing that is leaded but not sure (pump did not say). You will want to find out for sure before one mixes it. The 102 said was street legal, if that was leaded I dont know, again the pump did not say. Here is a chart that was attached to the pump for mixing the 102/111 with 91 to get different grades of fuel. As far as I know they are the only place in the F-M area that sells above 91 octane. Sorry about the quality of the picture, only had my cell phone with me.

Asked this question in the engine forum and this is what they said.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...81#post1167481

Based on the responses, I would stay away from the 111 (more than likely leaded fuel).

BTW: What color is your camaro. Have seen a black ss/rs in moorhead. A silver ss driving around in fargo and at the NDSU wellness center. Curious on how many there are in town, and if I missed any.:D

Is anybody in N. Dakota planning on going to the meet in Georgia next April?

camaroman/n.d. 11-23-2009 07:06 PM

I hear ya, I just put mine away for the winter but next year I think we need to have a ND meet.

She's all covered up in her warm "Satin Stretch" blanket in the garage sleeping away in hibernation mode 'til spring. Man, it's killing me!!! I only got 1500 miles on her before winter reared it's ugly head. I miss her, but revel in the thought that she'll be well-rested and ready to go come spring time. I've thought about taking her out for a drive since the roads are still pretty clear, but the thought of sliding into a ditch or guard rail, or some other Jack-@$$ sliding into me, puts my anxiety to rest and reminds me that I'll have a pristine, low-mileage hot rod to play with in the spring. Can't wait!!!! Hey, we still need to plan an area meet for spring-time, anybody interested. See ya then...

Your lucky to have gotten 1500 miles on yours before winter, I received mine on 12/01/2009 put 18 miles on it and sure enough snow the next day. Has been snowing almost every day since. Can't wait for spring. I think an area meet would be a great idea for spring time, count me in.

I really like your color combo, I think the White w/ IOM interior is awesome (especially if you have the IOM stripes). I just wasn't patient enough to wait on the late production white.
Yeah, we need to plan a meet somewhere. I definitely don't think it should be restricted to just ND cars, but open anyone who's willing to come. Where would be a good place to have it??? Probably around early May at the earliest to make sure we are all "defrosted" by then. Well, if someone else wants to help me coordinate this, I think we can get something together that would alot of fun.

Waiting for the production white was definitely a long wait, especially when my brother and brother in-law both got theirs months before me. I do have the IOM stripes on it which made it worth the wait, and winter is definitely killing me but it’s the price we pay for living in ND.
I agree with you, I don't think we should restrict it to just ND cars. As far as where to hold the event that’s a tough one, will have to rack the brain for that one unless you know anyone with a good idea.

Mutz_44 01-06-2010 12:18 AM

These both sound like good ideas too me.
