2014-2015 Z/28 fast lists. This will serve to document all the venues you can let your Z/28 eat. 1/4, 1/2, 1 mile, 1.5, Silver State, and Track times. Feel free to post your videos of best track times. For all 1/4 to 1.5 mile events, post your time slip, in this thread, in your user CP photo album, on the FB group, etc, or send me a PM with your slip! Please post what event you are looking to be considered for, your mods if any, and your time slip. Ill keep it to the top 5 for now.

My wife ran a 12.4 at CamaroFest.

It's all a learning experience, that's why I love this hobby of ours.

Not really what the Z/28 was made for, I'm not I'd ever run mine at 1/4 or 1/2 mile event.

No problem I'm a ware of that for sure, I just put in a category for Z28 just in case.

Well that's the excuse every ricer uses, when they lose. I would really hope Z28 owners wouldn't use that. Corvettes, Lamborghinis, Porsches aren't exaxtly set up for 1/4 mile drag racing yet I have seen several 10 second and faster vehicles.

I ran 12.4@119 with a 2.15 60'...wheel hopping POS at the dragstrip. This car is a usless drag racer. Keep your Z/28s on the road course!

Still a damn good time (and speed) for this car! However, this is exactly why I don't understand adding huge power to these cars...they're simply not built for drag racing. If you are wheel hopping with stock power then imagine 600+. Unless other mods are made to accommodate all that power, it will be mostly useless.

Interested to know if anyone has added significant power and gotten dramatic improvements in 1/4 time and, if so, what other mods were made to their cars to ensure they can effectively put the power down.

What tire? Trofeos?

toyo proxes r888...my only tires other than the trofeos. this isn't stock power either...check my sig

Mine wheel hops badly on the Trofeo's. Maybe this summer I'll have a chance to do something with it besides a few shows and cruise ins. Of course, I said that last year as well.

Got to run it Saturday. Ran 13.57 @111.75. Hard to launch without wheel hopping like crazy. 2.27 60 foot, slid sideways on the 2-3 shift, and spun on the 3-4 shift. Couldn't get a good burnout to heat the back tires, the thing wanted to just wheel hop. This is on the stock Trofeo's. I wasn't happy with any of the 4 runs, but it still beats a day at work.

Richmond.. Temp was 60, not sure of DA, but doubt it would have mattered.

weird...I was at Richmond on March 5 and my friend was there in his Gen 6 SS on Mar 12. He ran 12.89@112 in his car.

I ran 12.1 @ 117 with a 1.97 60 ft that was leaving very easy!

These are from a while back, I ran pretty consistent for both runs, only got 2 runs in because every time I pulled into the pits I was swamped by people looking at the car.

2.44 60'...the launch of these cars is terrible.

Street tires is all I can say. Running Continenial's right now, they hook up from a roll but not worth a damn from a dig.

Unless the alignment is changed it won't hook on a drag strip because they not made to drag

I just ran a 12.5 on street tires on a unprepped track. 2.1 60s trying to keep it from hopping or blowing the tires off.

Are you hot lapping that thing. Your runs are 6 minutes apart. Second pass the heat sure sucked wind out of it.

And yes I'd like to know how you keep it from hopping???

I believe the 60' is what slowed it down lol These cars are not fords and you can make several back to back to back runs........ Let alone sustained RPM for a road course.

I wish more folks were trying these things out on the strip. They're a blast to drive!

EDIT: so, I just remembered I attached my 8.03 pass to a post last year in may. I'll have to get a picture of my 7.91 slip on a 1.850 60'

That was 4250rpm launch and no burnout to warm the tyres. Way too much wheelspin and hence rubbish 60ft time, but the rest of the run and gearchanges were pretty good I would say. Z/28 definitely not in it's element but one day I'll have another go to see if I can get in the 12s.

Meantime though, back to circuits and trackdays! :)

I keep getting asked to take my Z28 to the 1/4 mile track. I think it would be an embarrassment to the car. To many people don't understand how different the set ups are. With only Trofeos and -1.8 Camber in the rear I know damn well this car wont launch at all.

Im surprised no one mentioned the clutch. My stock clutch is way to soft. It slips going in and out of the garage or on and off the trailer. Im certain trying to launch it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

Rather then look bad in the 1/4 mile I would like to find away to educate people on the difference. Or lets get a few demons on the road course and make them look stupid.

169 mph at the mojave magnum last year and it is stock

Was that on street tires?I have set of drag radial on race stars but 17 inch wheels just wont fit! I think drag radials are a must!
Do you guys do "no lift shifting"?
