Switchblade silver interior trim***New Photos added 2/13/10***
 

****Put Better photos up today 2/13/10****....The switchblade silver is very light silver with metallic sparkle in it.....I'd say its a match to the dic gauge trim....a few people on here had said it matches the trims that are standard in the 2LT and 2SS....this is way lighter than that....not to hard of an install....just be careful when disconnecting all the power plugs in the door....if u dont know exactly how they disconnect u can snap them....all of the plastic rivits on the door trim u have to grind off.....well I didnt want all that mess so I just used a box cutter and sliced them off and then ran the new screws into the holes left behind....the dash trim pieces simply snapped into place....takes some effort to get the old trim off....theres a few before and afters....including the MGW shifter and 4-pack cluster gauges....if anyone is interested in my factory trims private message me with an offer....they are in perfect condition and would be good for a paint project with a color GM doesnt offer.

Yes the lighting kit will work with these....before I installed them I held them up to a light and u could see threw the top edge.....now its installed u cant tell......as far as why I bought them......I wanted colored inserts and u cant have them on a stock 1LT or 1SS.

I'll be getting these eventually also! But I have a 1LT/RS...man there has got to be a way to throw in the ambient lighting as well. Ive seen plenty of DIYs for adding ambient lighting to the dash of 2SS and 2LT cars, but nothing that I know of for adding lighting to the doors of a 1SS or 1LT. Surely the hook ups are there already?!?

Anyone have much information about these new trims being put on hold by GM? I read that somewhere.

I know awhile back that they changed the part numbers, but now I saw recently in some thread that these could be put on hold for awhile for whatever reason? (maybe new vendor??)

4 sum reason they put a hold on them.....then changed their part numbers....must have changed vendors....probably couldnt produce enough of them 4 GM's liking....most people dont have them after waiting forever 4 them.....maybe that's the reason 4 the change....I think I got the last of the old part number as I just got these last friday.

I see them down further in the post now...think you are good to go. Just the links at the top threw me off cause they come up as invalid.

I'm not 100% sure about that on a 1SS or 1LT. I don't have someone else's car to play around with.

What I could suggest to you is this. See if you can get the light tube for the doors, then buy the GM lamp. You could use the light in the window switch to run the ambient light in the door. It is most likely has a yellow and black wires. The yellow would be the positive, and the black negative for your blue lamp.

The sunroof button, and the traction control button lamp is powered both by the yellow wire.

If you do it this way, then when you dim the lights all the way down, the ambient lighting would still be on at their lowest level. In my 2LT, when you dim the lighting down, the ambient lighting goes off. So that is something to consider if you go with the other lights in the car.

They still fade up and fade down though.

I have a 1LT....yes it matches good....Its mainly for the 1LT and 1SS since you couldnt get them when ordering the car....only the stock cloth.

as far as the 1lt and 1ss you could use light tape from light tape.com and go to industry partneners and find TNT Audio there kit for the camaro with dimming cost 140-180 i forget. then door inserts from pace performance order # 92241174 cost 339.95 i just orded both for my 1ss good luck guys
