are 2015 camaro ss ls3 engines dohc? or push rod?
just curious.

Pushrod

DOHC is in the mustang 5.0 and the Chevy 6 bangers, ls3 and l99 are pushrods with one cam not multiple cams to change and no timing belts...timing chains. That's one reason why the 5.0 engine in a mustang seems so big is because it has so many cams over head and is heavier and a lot larger than our 6.2 and fills up the front engine bay so tight.

Chevy only has 1 DOHC V8 and that was the LT5 back in the early 90s. I hope they never go back to it.

When they were first deciding at gm about going forward with the Ls engines n the push rod style cam as compared to the dohc style....the had gm executives drive two corvettes. One was dohc...one was traditional push rod ls engine. Unanimously they as choose the vette with the push rod ls motor. ...they were not privy to which vette had which engine. ....the rest is history....thank God.

I just never thought some one would buy a 1LE ,without knowing what it was. If he had asked that about an SS with an auto trans it wouldn't surprise me at all .
