This is why I dont let other people drive my car

Sorry everybody I have to rant. I got my car two and a half weeks ago and now have 1400 miles on it. I have not let anybody else drive my car yet until today.:mad0260: I generally in the past have not let anybody else drive my other cars, but today I let my father drive my car because he has a 4th gen z28 with a 6 speed for the last 15 years and I thought there would not be a problem. I was wrong.

I know my father did not do any damage to my car probably, but he lugged the engine twice and killed it once on the very short lived drive:paddle:. I was just so pissed that he could not get it down:bs:. I know that i should not be mad its just a car, but this is the first car I have had that cost this much money, its MY CAR, and I'm very paticular about it. So as a end result I guess he ruined it for everybody else because I'm not letting anybody else drive it now. Does anybody think I'm overreacting?:iono:

Wow... yeah, you are seriously way over reacting... As much as I love my car, like you said it is just a car... I wish my Dad was still alive so I could let him drive my car...

YES... total overreaction. The car is fine. My wife shifted from 2nd to 1st trying to go to 3rd, not once but twice. Both times making the rear wheels squeel from the sudden decelleration. The kicker was TWICE. The next driving experience went much better but that time I made her stop right in the middle of the road and switch!

Yep I think so. I can't wait for my Dad and Mom to take it for a spin. They have been itchin to take it out since I ordered it.

I have to agree, I lost my Dad several years ago. I would love for him to be able to rub the paint off the wheels agaisnt the curb of my week old 2SS. I'd gladly give the car back to have him back!

My Dad was the first one to get my 3rd generation sideways, under the auspices of "making sure it's safe for you son...gotta see what this thing has"....was one of the few times I saw my Dad act like a big kid. What I wouldn't give to let him have the same chance in the 5th gen.

I vote you let your Dad drive it again...I'm sure there was a time he was getting gray hair when you were driving his car, so think of this as payback.

MOST DIFFINETLY! You should be ashamed. My dad helped me get into my first camaro back in 1976, I have had my 2010 for one week, and I got to show it to him today for the first time. I told him how much it ment to me all those many years ago, and certainly why I got this one. He almost started to cry. IF he could drive, I would have handed the key to him in a heartbeat and tell him to be careful, but have a blast. What you don't know, is my dad now can't walk, or talk ,uch at all, but I could see it in his eyes, my dad is 87 years old and in the 3rd stage of Parkinsons. Dads LIVE for moments like that, think about that very long and hard till you see him next.
