GM better get a move on with the Camaro
Because many prospective buyers don't have the patience to wait 4-6 months to get a car - it's a wicked ride no doubt but there is a point when you simply have to move on. Get them on the lots and make them available - quit making your Malibus and Equinoxes and put all your plants on the ONE car that is actually selling - the Camaro. The whole "hard-to-find" game is over.

EDIT: Of course, estimates and real-life are many times off considerably...guess that's why they call them estimates...LOL. |
4-6 months? i have waited 8 weeks today expected to get the car this week. you just have to find the right dealer.

You just requested the impossible. How do you propose a factory with SUV parts make a Camaro for instance? They've already got the plant working overtime. There's simply nothing else they can do. You and everyone else will get theirs in time.

You have to remember the Camaro is not for everyone. It would be more irresponsible to produce them as you suggest and flood the market with them. A lot of people are afraid of rear wheel drive these days. They still have to build for the masses not just the enthusiast

:word: However I don't agree with all GM plants building the camaro but this is getting rediculous for me.

Right now that average time frame from dealers in Central Florida area (the 6 I have talked to) have said 8-12 weeks. Several of the dealerships around here have inventory on the lot's 1-4 cars LT's and SS's.

I guess it would be nice to actually receive your car while it's still new and fresh instead of getting it a few months down the line when it's a dime a dozen.

Ron Westphal Chevrolet in Aurora, IL has 2 black SS Camaros on the lot as of Saturday evening...

I'll get my 2010 in 2010 looks like....lol

Hrm, maybe they need to just go ahead and start doing pre-orders for 2011 models if anyone was wanting the next version lol. I myself will probably be getting my 2010 in 2012 when I find a nice used one LOL. |

Same with me. will be ordering in November. As for having all plants make the 2010 Camaro...just insane. They would have to refit all those factories to build it, costing millions of $$$$$. Anyway...wait your 8-12 weeks, you will get it. I sold my Firebird 2 months ago, and I know I won't be taking delievery until Feburary 2010. Have a lease to settle up with. |
