Baxley is a haul but we get to Savannah quite often so it would be nice to get together with some more Camaro folks.

Any goings on for Camaro's this weekend? New in town and avoiding the St. Pat's day stuff downtown.
Don't have my own Camaro yet wither, but I have a line on a smokin' deal for a 2010 ABM RS.

I see you've got a Heritage. I don't know who you normally ride with, but the Savannah Harley Owner's Group are great people to ride with. There are normally 2-3 rides a week out to lunch somewhere within about a 1 1/2 to 2 hours' ride. They great dudes who just like riding and B.S.'ing.

Not that I know of, hope you get your Camaro. If so come join us the first Sunday of next month.

Yep, was my retirement gift when we thought Uncle Sam was going to let me retire. Don't have it down here yet as I am still sorting out whether or not I still have traveling to do before I can get settled into Savannah life.
Thanks for the info. Was going to start looking for a group to ride with.

Pretty sure the Camaro is mine. Just a matter of timing, it's my parents 2010 RS and my mom REALLY doesn't want to sell it as it bookends nicely to her '68. But she has mentioned a number of times that she'd be willing to sell it to me to keep it in the family. And of course there is the special "first son" discount to sweeten the deal.

What time do ya'll meet on the first Sunday?

429 03-14-2013 06:29 PM

usually 10-1030 am, talk for a bit, and then get lunch and do something afterwards

Jer4251 03-14-2013 06:42 PM

1030 is a bit early. I would think if we meet between 11 and 12 and head out at 12 for lunch it would give out of towners more time to get here. Or give locals more time to chat. I may start bringing a chair.

429 03-14-2013 07:30 PM

Now that its getting warmer, later is certainly fine by me.

mpiersd 03-15-2013 12:25 AM

The Camaro I am trying to buy is in the middle. The 68 is my Mom's first car. The black SS my brother won on Powerblock a couple of years ago. And I learned today that the ABM 2010 only has 2800 miles on it.

I love ABM. Great looking color, especially with white stripes

By meeting early, then we can get to the restaurant to beat the church crowd...at least that is why we started meeting earlier...

our table was ready when we walked in, they just made us wait for no reason, we still beat the crowd.

habunow1 03-16-2013 07:14 AM

Jer I always have a smal chair or two in my car. A must for me as a old one.

Me too. Love how it looks like the old LeMans Blue.

mpiersd 03-20-2013 04:01 PM

And the deal is done. Just need to work out the logistics of taking delivery as the car is in Kansas and I am in Georgia.

I've had good luck with u-ship.com

United Road was my carrier both times.

Or you could fly/drive it home. Shipping is probably cheaper

Part of the deal is selling my current car back to them. Rounding gas up to $4 for the entire drive, still cheaper to drive round trip than the shipping quotes I have received.
Yep, I'm gettin an upgrade.

That car is on its last breaths of life. Both rear wheel wells rusted out(can check tire tread from the driver seat), front driver side subframe has some good rot going, and it started leaking oil pretty bad from the front main over the last few weeks. They just want it to use until my brother replaces the engine in his sonoma. After that it will either get parted out or go to the scrap yard.
Timing worked out great for me looking for a car anyway and my parents wanting to sell.

429 03-21-2013 11:43 AM

Haha, my beater/mpg car is a 96 sunfire. 271k and going strong. Wife has a prius c, which will be my next dd. I used to hate on hybrids, but after owning one, i couldnt ever get another commuter car that didnt regularly get 45mpg. Gas savings are awesome, and resale is higher then any other kind of car/truck

It's just me but I think meet between 10:30-11 and roll out for lunch around 11:15-11:20 at the latest to beat the crowd.

mmarx82 03-21-2013 01:36 PM

BTW, I ordered the K&N Carbon Fiber CAI for the Z last week, it should be here next week. Then today someone at my work told me if I call K&N that they do 50% off for military (those with CAC card) so I'll have to check that out too...

You don't see me at a meet, you'll probably see me around base. I'm at HAAF.
Good thing to know about the K&N discount too.

please do check. that would be a huge savings. I was gonna go with the rotofab because of the price difference. Who did you order through?

Ok so here is what I found out, it's not 50% but the discount straight from K&N brought it down to $630. I got mine from AutoAnything.com for $594 ish after they price matched me to: http://ecustomhitch.com but they aren't showing that price anymore. However, http://lol4x4.com has it at the $594 price too but autoanything will give you the free recharge kit still and will price match for a year from your purchase.

That said I got a call from them today saying it was backordered until April 25th, When I called K&N they also verified that it is indeed backordered that far out. So I won't be getting it next week but they were both really nice about it. So get your order in if this is the one you want.

Jer4251 03-21-2013 07:48 PM

I may just go for a white rotofab for under 400 bucks. No carbon fiber extra for me, looks nice but don't wanna spend the money.

Jer4251 03-21-2013 07:49 PM

side note, anyone know anyone in the area looking for nice wheels? need to sell my dusk wheels.

We got the wife's trans-am running today. Back to life with a new built lq4... finally glad its done with, just a few little odds/ends to do and some cleaning. We rescued it from a driveway in florida where it had died.

Still working on the ABS delete, and new hidden fuel lines. hid all the shock tower harness from the pass side. Still wanna replace some seals, C5 brake swap in the future.
