D3 coolant reservoir tank?

Is anyone running the D3 coolant reservoir tank on their ZL1? I like the mounting location and the .5 gallon capacity. Any feedback would be great.

I'm thinking about picking this up along with their HEX.. It all seems like quality stuff. I'd like to hear any feedback as well for those that have the HEX as well as the reservoir.

I want it but not at that price.

I think there are a number of us in the same boat.....if they did a Group buy for us with a cheaper price I think they would get a lot of buyers...

I plan on running it at some point. I will be stopping by their shop sometime soon.

I personally don't think the price is that bad. It's made out of aluminum, holds .5 gallons and it dissipate heat better than plastic. I'm going to email them and see if they are interested in doing a group buy.

IMO the fact that it only holds .5 gals I would rather go with another reservoir that holds atleast 1 gallon. I spoke with TORQ and they have a new reservoir being made that will hold just over 3 gals of extra coolant which mounts basically in the same area as the one from D3! Just something to think about!

Thanks for that information. Hopefully they will come out with it soon! I'm not a fan of the mounting location of the other one and that it's made of plastic. Hopefully Torq makes it out of aluminum.

Your welcome! I have confirmed that it is made out of aluminum as well. Here is a pic of the previous version and where it will be mounted shown on a supercharged Camaro SS! They told me that it will fit for the ZL1 as well!

That looks awesome.. So that will work for our ZL1's or are they making a completely different one for the LSA?

PWRHSEZL1 08-15-2013 12:10 AM

The rep that I spoke with said that it will work for both models the Supercharged SS and the ZL1 LSA! Here is the Link http://www.torqspeedlab.com/store/ch...tank-torq.html

Sweet! I'll be giving them a call soon.

D3PE (NOT D3 - different company) reservoir and HX was prototyped on my car. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

The torq unit looks nice but that location will not work for those of us with the Moroso catch can....hmmmm...suggestions ????

PRZL1 08-15-2013 09:42 AM

Im not really sure that it will work in our cars because of the scoop of the hood. I did a custom tank for mine and it has worked good for the strip but still Im planning on using either Meth or a small shot of NOS to lower my IAT's.
