Don't know if this is a re-post, but I just saw this over on Autoblog. Not that I'd do this myself but I just thought it was pretty cool and really creative. Check it out.

Remember the Sharpie Lamborghini Gallardo from 2007? A Chevrolet Camaro has been given a similar treatment courtesy of Maryland-based professional pinstriper Chris Dunlop. Stepping away from his cans of paint and fine brushes, Dunlop has created two magnificently detailed Sharpie tapestries where the original pinstripes would have been.

According to LSX TV, Dunlop says this Camaro is the fourth car he's decorated like this, and others have followed. Ten pens gave their lives to the cause of art, as well as a few layers of clearcoat to make sure the ink remains permanent. If you happen to think you could do this at home to your own ride, have a look at the detail shots in the gallery – a Sharpie isn't just a marker in Dunlop's hands.

The car looks like a die cast model for some reason to me.

wonder how the plastic door trim would look sharpied?

Die casts don't have backup sensors. It looks real to me.

Someone decided to draw on my camaro. Wasn't nearly as cool.

Very nice artistry!

I saw the title of this thread and thought, oh God, did someone else draw on another Camaro? Your story horrified me :yikes:

Sharpies...not just for eyebrows anymore...

I wonder what a month in the sun would look like, not to mention it's first wash?
Dude should invest in some one shot, and a brush.

Vengeance Graphix 10-17-2011 04:54 PM

thats pretty cool

I've gotta say, that looks pretty cool. And if it's done well and doesn't fade away over time then that'd be a great idea. Wish I had though of it. It would've been alot cheaper than paying for stripes to be put on...!

How many hours did that take. Also i have no idea how he made such sharp edges though there is sharpie pens out now too which i guess could have helped.
