Arizona Drivers Roads

Just thought I would toss up a guide to a couple of the more fun routes in Arizona to take. Anyone local feel free to add ones you know, these are just the ones I have encountered through travel for business throughout the state.

Tip: google directions from the names given and look over the routes, most are switch backs through mountains.

Between Flagstaff, AZ & Sedona, AZ
Great off the main highway route, and Sedona is beautiful, no where else like it.

Between Cottonwood, AZ & Prescott, AZ
Jerome is smack dab in the middle of this alternative route, known for its eclectic feel and haunted nature, its literally built on the side of a mountain.

Tucson Mount Lemmon Run (One Way)
Between Tucson & Mount Lemmon

Roosevelt Run (One Way, if pavement is required)
88 runs from apache junction to Roosevelt Lake.
It is only paved on the apache junction side up to the apache lake area, IT IS ROUGH NON-PAVED DIRT PAST THIS POINT . This is a favorite road for bikers and sports cars up till the pavement ends. One of the pre-production models was run on this entire route and capture on video here.

Believe it or not... we get snow in this state... in the winter time I like to drive to a ski resort in the Apache Indian Reservation. From Tucson, you can take route 77 almost all the way to Greer, AZ, it is a fun drive, full of canyons and climbs. It is quite the workout when you're driving a manual, but it is beautiful, and there is about a 25% chance that snow is still on the sides of the road at high elevations in early April.
