Violent shaking at higher speeds during acceleration
 

I have searched almost every thread, and nothing I've tried has fixed the problem.

2010 SS 63k miles, full bolt on w/ aggressive cam, rims are stock. Stock tire sizes.

New front tires, balanced twice jic, new motor mounts and trans mount.

Problem started a week or 2 after new tire installation. Then put in the new mounts and then rebalanced new tires.

Any help would be appreciated.

Where is it shaking, steering wheel, shifter, seat? Depending on where it is most noticed can help isolate the issue

Tires can be bad and still balance out. Switch the tires front to rear and see if it changes the vibration.

Didn't Spec have a similar problem like this? I think it was his LCA bushings.

Right... easy method to figuring out whether this is your issue is to lift the car and get it off the wheels/tires, then shake the tire to see what's loose. If nothing is loose, it could indeed be your tires and/or wheels.

It was still miss balanced tires after multiple balancing's. I would get all 4 wheels off the ground, spin the back under power. If there isn't any vibration, put the front wheels on the back and repeat.

If the vibration changes when you apply throttle and accel and when there is no load I do not believe it is tires or wheels. that it something more likely in the driveline, trans, driveshaft, diff, axles.

I agree to a large extent, but when this happens about the time that new tires are installed, I would start with them.

Tire unbalance is not dependent on acceleration. It is worst in the range of 55-75 mph, when the resonant frequency of the wheel-spring system is achieved, whether you are accelerating or coasting.

Since you had the motor and transmission mounts changed, that is the obvious first place to look. Could be loose fasteners due to poor installation (insufficient torque, reusing fasteners that were supposed to be replaced, or forgetting thread locking).

Spec with the zl1 right had this in a similar thread.. right? spec..

I've seen the vibration from miss balanced tires change based on acceleration and deceleration, although this has been in very wore out vehicles, with very tired suspension (and everything else).

I read the original post as the mounts were changed after the problem started. If that's not the case, start there.
