NOWEEDS Diverter system for AMERICAN RACING 3" exhaust
This is our second diverter thread as i feel this product is different enough to warrant a totally different discussion than our stock setup. Thanks Stefano Bimbi with Nickey Chicago for getting us hooked up with Nick Filippides at American Racing and to Nick for sending us out the pipes. Also to Casey Wegner at Wegner Motorsports who is installing on the Nickey Stage III project.
Rick Bottom with Rick Bottom Designs is another dude we are fortunate to work with as he is building a sick Camaro for GM's SEMA 2009 Booth and using this system. Lastly, (i apologize this sounds like a damn acceptance speech at the Oscars' but these guys need mention) Randy Haron who pulled in a ton of resources and personally spent a lot of his own time to help us fine tune the final design. He supplied us with the pictures of the install on his very nicely modded Camaro posted below. This is a BOLT IN system for the American Racing 3 inch exhaust. http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...underneath.jpg http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...egreeangle.jpg http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...ewstraight.jpg http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...ig/closeup.jpg http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...roundlevel.jpg This picture was taken before some modifications were made but is very similar. http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...nPrototype.jpg |

This system is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it. |
does it sound different ??
can't wait for the vids and more pic please |
Just for clarification...
BOLT ON meaning no cutting as is required on the stock piping, correct? If true, that's just another added advantage to having the NOWEEDS 3" diverters with the AMR headers - awesome sound, tons of bang for the buck HP, and super easy installation. |
Can't see the pics' from here, but I'm sure they're going to be looking great when I see them later. I think you've got a winner with this combination!!!

I just called my local performance shop for an install quote and he just threw in a warning towards me about risking a voided warranty. Said there always is a possible Federal emissions issue relating to the headers being connected to the engine. He was all for giving me a quote, but said he would have to see everything in person. I told him they installed ceramic headers on my 07 Suburban so why the huge warranty scare. He said he's just throwing it at me so I know. I always hate hearing about these possibilities!

You still need to make cuts like the factory system but the system is bolted in as opposed to being welded in. That in itself makes a huge difference. Basically we are replacing a lap joint that is already there with the diverter. we also added the custom turnout which not only redirects exhaust down and out but maintains ground clearance and stays within the factory heat shields as well. Not to mention the wicked cut on it looks kinda evil too... Form and function were maintained. Thanks again. |
how much do they weigh?
|
anybody have a sound clip of the diverters?
