We Got to talk about Street Takeovers

Hey Camaro Fam,

So me and a group of friends sat down to rant about street takeovers and the many issues they're causing out here in LA. It's so bad that cops are pulling over ANYONE who looked slightly modified. I'm posting here for a couple of reasons: (1) How do we get the community involved to stop this (2) Testimony that not all modified cars are illegal/bad. We're trying to make a change, and I'd love some input from my fellow Camaro family, whether you're in LA or not - It's something we got to talk about.

So your group was upset because other people doing stupid illegal things were causing the cops to crack down on your group that weren't necessarily doing stupid things but had illegal mods. Don't get me wrong, many laws about car mods are idiotic, but they are the law. Seems it would be better to try and get those changed than be upset because some lawbreakers are drawing unwanted attention to your lawbreaking.

Notify the police as soon as you see one starting to form.

These takeovers are starting to cause CHP to profile modded cars and pull them over without reason, it's tough out here in Cali for smog reasons.

Sometimes a slap in the face is the best thing we need.
You're 100% right - How should those with illegal mods try and get the law changed?

Believe me when I say many...MANY... people call the police. If you've seen the latest videos, there is too many people that police actually avoid the meet. It's dangerous for them, and without a ton of back up there isn't much 4 or 5 cops can do to a riot ready crowd of 200 people.

That's why they're being "proactive" during the Day. But, I feel like they're going after the wrong people.
