First time ever at the Strip
 

Don't beat me up to bad, was my first time!!

Went to check it out, wound up running 3 passes.

One thing that was slowing me down was my shift light was set to 5500rpm and I was shifting then. Slowed me down, I know, cause she pulls strong.

Used t/c and stabil off for burn outs; learned to use mode 5 with launch control (lifted too quick 3rd time and had lots of wheel hop) and the no lift shift during the runs....

IT WAS AWESOME :biggrin: Want to try it again, was shaking afterwards!!

Going to the strip is a blast! Its all about having fun and trying to beat your personal best. Nice to hear you had an awesome time :thumbsup:

get out of the ptm that was probably costing you .5 or so.

That's about what I was running tonight. I couldn't hook up at all. I was on my street tires instead of my DR's. my best was a 12.80. First time out for the season.

I still had a ton of fun running against a buddy in his modded SS. And at least I beat him!

I had some horrible wheel hop on the last run..

Only Mods I have for performance is CAI and CAT back. (gotta change this!)

Should I just run TC and Stab off only?

watch out for wheel hop. that's what breaks axles....

everyone says run with the modes off yet the gm testing shows 12.0's in mode 5. my best in mode 5 is 12.3. if done properly that launch is awesome!

Don't worry about the times it's the first time for you at the track in your new car. Each trip to the strip you will learn a little bit more, and soon you will have that ZL1 running low 12s.

This. Going to the track in a ZL1 honestly does it get any better then this.
