Solo Performance LFX V6 High Flow Converters

Product: LFX V6 High Flow Catalytic Converters
Fitment: V6 Camaro 2012–Present

LFX High Flow Converters Description:

Solo Performance is proud to announce that we have our 2012+ Camaro V6 LFX Ultra High Flow Converters ready for sale. These converter assemblies were no easy task, as we had to get special tooling and flanges made for their production. The 200 cell, ultra high flow converters used in this application offer maximum flow and are rated to 6.0L per side. That’s 12.0L of cleaning ability for your Camaro.

Solo Performance also includes our O2 extenders for the rear most O2 bungs on either side. These extenders further ensure that the engine light stays off. We first built these converter assemblies without the free flow resonators and it was incredibly loud (not in a good way). With the addition of the Solo free flow resonator, we were able to create an incredible exhaust note along with increased flow over the stock assembly. Enjoy Going Solo with our new 2012+ V6 LFX Camaro Converters!

LFX High Flow Converter Specs:
  • 200 cell stainless steel spiral wound design. This design is long lasting, ultra-high flow, and completely stainless inside and out.
  • Converters are far overrated for the car, at 6.0L per side. That’s 12.0L of cleaning ability.
  • Includes a special design stainless steel 3/8” thick front flange.
  • All pipes, O2 bungs, and welds are stainless steel.
  • For sound reasons, we had to incorporate a free flow resonator behind the converter. With just the converter, the performance was great but the sound was horrible. With the addition of the resonator we now have great sound (about 15%-20% more noise overall) and performance.
  • These converters are not CARB certified, but they do pass all emissions and keep the CEL light off.
  • They are technically for off road use only.
  • Each converter assembly is about 4 feet long. It goes from the manifold to the first connection.
  • No CEL or engine lights to date!
  • 100% BOLT ON!

Retail Price: $733.95 USD (see group buy details for lower pricing)

Steve,

Can you provide spec comparisons with the stock exhaust?

I'd also really like to hear the sound including your LFX j pipe kit.

The OEM converters are 700 cell, I believe. Ours are much more free flowing with a 200 cell internal core. Basically, they flow as best as you are going to see without going totally catless. Each converter has 6.0L of cleaning power.

The LFX kit and cats sound exactly like our other HF cats for the earlier V6 models. They use the same bodies...only the bends and flanges are different. Videos are here, and you can see in the first video that there is no drone, even with our catback installed (with the J pipes).

Can you tell me what the performance gains in HP over stock cats would be? Please no guessing. I am looking for a performance upgrade and was looking into HFC's for my 2012 LFX and have not had success in my search and I am having a hard time justifying the price tag even now with the 15% discount without seeing some results before purchase. Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dean.

Steve,

Thanks for posting the videos. When do you think you can make an LFX video?

I'd really like to hear the LFX and not the LLT again since the engine exhaust is different.

Dean,
The cats will yield 15whp. The OEM cats are very restrictive, so they make a huge difference. These cats are the same that we use on the earlier V6, just with different bends.

The LFX cats and LLT cats sound the same. It is the same design and cat bodies, simply with different bends to accommodate the slightly different undercarriage of the LFX. Hopefully one of our testers can chime in and attest to that as well.

waiting to hear from the LFX guys to say it sounds the same.....LFX is not the same as llt as far as air flow,, LFX virtually have factory headers..

I just listened to the videos and I am trying desperately to make a sound clip...I have a crappy cell phone for that sort of thing. I am trying to get a buddy to help...stay tuned.

However, the sound clips above sound very close to what I hear. I think my LFX has a little deeper tone hard to tell. I do have cold air intake by CAI on my car, maybe that has something to do with it. There is absolutely no drone on the highway. I cruise in 6th gear at 60-70 MPH and I can have a normal conversation without raising my voice.

I will do my best to get a sound clip up soon...

The sound clips really don't do it justice though. The sound clis are great, but in person it's awesome...Best purchase I have made for my car so far! Now when I go to our club meets, I am not embarrased by the wimpy stock exhaust.

I have had no check engine lights and my gas mileage has improved since I put on the HFC and cat back exhaust. My car was one of the test cars and I have about 700 miles with these on my car. Truly amazing!

Thanks for the feedback and hope you can get that video up soon...the LFX cats might be a touch deeper than the LLT ones, but the tone is pretty darn close!!
