Miller 211?
I am 16 and am new to welding. I am pretty set on buying a Miller 211. I know this seems pretty extreme to start off with, but I want something that A) I won't have the desire to upgrade and B) will last a while.
In total I will have about $1250 into it, my dad is buying the gas. Think this is a worth while investment? I really like the 120V and 230V capabilities. |
Gas is the cheap part! 120V & 230V is a nice option, but as you probably figured out on 120V you can basically weld light material as AMP draw is limited. It all depends on what you want to do. You're looking at a decent machine and will last a long time, it just really depends on your goals with it.
You won't need to upgrade unless you want to weld structural steel!:D |
very good choice and you cant go wrong with miller.

I got it recently. Played with it a little. Need to play more and mess with settings. My garage is run with 14-2 and it is a long run, so I don't this that is ideal. We are running 10-3 to the garage now, so that should be a little better. I think it will be a great machine. Thanks.
