Exhaust modification
Hello!
I am considering modding the exhaust on my 2011 Camaro 2LT/RS. I am not sure of the best options for doing so. I am looking to get a low rumble, burble sound without being obnoxious. :) and if possible easy on the wallet. Also, on a technical aspect, will doing so affect E Check. I am also not sure of Ohio laws on this topic, which I am looking into. What are your guys’ thoughts/opinions? Thanks! Merry Christmas! |

Best sound i've heard out of a v6 from solely an axleback exhaust is hands down the MRT v2. That spintech exhaust is tailored for v8's and will have a ton of rasp. Do you plan on doing just mufflers or a full exhaust? (headers, HFCs, midpipe and mufflers)

Not sure! Would just a muffler do the trick? |
The MRT v2 axle-back is definitely the best way to go. It is the most recommended for the V6. I have it myself and it is amazing. It has a nice deep rumble at idle and just the right amount of interior drone while driving. It’s not obnoxiously loud but at full throttle, it sounds awesome. Compared to other exhausts for the V6, I would describe the MRT v2 as being more refined than the others while also being just as mean. Also, I don’t know if it’s still available but I saw a barely used set for sale on the forums.
You’ll also want to look into getting high-flow converters. Supposedly, they make the sound even deeper and slightly louder exhaust note and are more refined compared to going catless. I’m not sure of other brands but from what I’ve read on the forums, the Solo Performance HFCs have never thrown a CEL code because of the O2 sensor spacers. I have a set that I will be installing soon so I can let you know what I think after I install them. |
