USB Needed

Hello All, I have a 2010 SS and the USB was loose so the dealership replaced it. What I was not told was that GM changed manufacturers and that the new one only produces WHITE USB plugs. :mad0259: My interior is black and the dealership says they can not get one that is black. The part number I was given is 20870101. Does anyone know where i can get a stock USB plug? Or who the original manufacturer was?

What I don't understand either is why GM would change to a manufacturer that only produced a white face to the USB? I get the argument that it makes it easier to see but come on, how many of us are going to risk wrecking our beautiful cars to change from a USB to iPhone...

Would someone let me know the answer to my first question??

Thank you so very much for taking the time read and respond. :chevy:

Cory......you have the number.....but the only way that you are going to get one of the older ones that is BLACK, would be to get ahold of someone at some place like GM PARTS DIRECT that can actually go to the shelf and pull the part and VERIFY its color. I know that isn't what you want to here, but its probably what you will have to do to get what you want.

Put one of these in the slot and only the small black end shows, plus you can load some music on it. I have one in mine.

If all else fails, u might try a black Sharpie to color to black.

ok - I know this is an OLD post - but my USB port just crapped out on my 2014 SS. I ordered the white one from Amazon (same part # as from GMParts - but $10 cheaper, and I found this link with what "claims" to be the same part in black from eBay - will see what I get when they both come in, but i did find the instructions on how to access the connector (one of the links on this forum had instructions for installing the complete PDIM module, very helpful) here is the link for ebay part https://www.ebay.com/i/302796286684?...SABEgKTLPD_BwE

and while white is not the preferred color - the damn port is in the glove box - nobody but you the owner will ever see it - its an annoyance, but not really that big an issue - so long as the damn thing works!!!
