need help buying 2014 ss HELP FAST

alright guys i did like you said and went to take a look at an ss ( as well as m3 and c63) but i need some help . due to my father hating a stick shift in nyc im forced to get an auto because he will want to drive it once in a while. and i heard the auto makes 26 less hp. is that a big jump and i just feel weird upgrading to a v8 for 80 hp... please help guys and is the car noticeably slower?

Their will be a difference between the Manual and Automatic Camaro.

The auto is still fast

I think GM lists a .1 second difference in the quarter mile. L99s are plenty fast.

I Never driven the auto before so I cant compare the 2. Not to sound smart, but is your father helping you pay for the car? If you really want the stick, you might have that after thought that you should have gotten the stick from the get go haunt you. I know NYC has busy streets so that might nip it in the bud right there. Especially if its your only car.
...
I don't think you can go wrong either way and ultimalely it's up to you. But if you have that dying feeling (like I do) definitely get the stick. Assuming you feel like dealing with traffic. If not, save yourself the hassle and get the auto.

Yes!! Their will be a difference in how fast the automatic is compared to the manual but the automatic Camaro is still pretty quick.

Unless you can shift and launch the manual like a pro the automatic will probably beat you in the 1/4 mile 9 times out of 10. So that extra 26 hp won't do you any good.

thank you sin r g thats the answer i wanna hear lol

You're not just upgrading the horsepower. You'll notice the torque difference the most. Not to mention the other upgrades like the Brembos ... another huge difference.
