Talk me out of a Twin Turbo!!!! Or not!

Just drove down to Ft Worth to my shop SNL Performance. They have done 95% of my car so far....outstanding shop BTW!

Had to pick up my broken LS3 and aeromotive eliminator pump, speed controller, and my old LPE dual pump setup as well as a other miscellaneous odds and ends. This motor with SNL V3 cam will be built and go into my '83 K10 4x4 eventually

Anyway, Steve the owner and Dustin the lead tech talked me into a custom Twin Precision Turbo 6766 setup.

Im running the little D1sc on this big breathing HKE LSX427 with Mast LS7 6 bolt heads and its over tasked and major slip at 5300 rpm.

So my options are F1r with big race intercooler, new tubing and BOV or twin 6766 turbos custom built.

SNL will custom fabricate this system for a pretty good deal since my car has pretty much been built by these guys.

Car is almost 100% street car and will see the 2.5 mile road course a few times a year....probably never will see the 1/4 or 1/8.

Not a daily driver, just a nice retirement present... The 700rwhp now is insane but this motor is capable of so much more. Might as well get the most out of it.

So, F1R, F1X with race intercooler and new tubing or custom TT setup running twin PT6766

My goal is a good driving street car that joins the 1000rwhp club here on Camaro5. Read my sig line for mods so far.

HELP!!!!!!

Twin turbos are sexy.

Turbos can be temperamental, I would stay with a blower.

PM sent, normally i dont sell stuff....just not worth it to me to lose 75% on something i just bought a year ago.

Even this D1SC i plan on toasting rather that selling for a grand or so if i go TT or big F1X/F1R. Hell I dont know....anyway PM sent

Yea, i hear you Jason....i thought the same thing but my shop really bent my ear on the TT setup for a street car. I love the F1x but am not real excited on hacking into my shock tower. Oh, and Huffer who did just this just up and disappeared from this site. So there goes my studying of the F1x on a 5th gen.

I can get the TT setup real reasonable....i mean real reasonable!!!!!!! SNL is pretty psyched to do this. They haven't steered my wrong yet.

Keep the suggestions coming....TT guys lets hear it!

Don't go with the F1R as I had big heating issues with it. The F1X is a huge improvement over the F1R but it is now outlawed because it is said to be too much of an advantage in the class it was built to run. As you know Im running the F2 and absolutely LOVE it as it has proven to be more than I expected in every way and it doesn't take much to make it fit either. The highest temp I have seen so far with the F2 is 174 degrees, pretty impressive. For your application of usage I cant see how the Procharger isn't the way to go as twin turbos are awesome and fast but they can be a pain and the on/off boost character of turbos turned me away as the Procharger is constantly pulling all the time. Either way you will have badass car and it will be a blast.

Do it.

Last thing i need is another competitive hobby....Thats what 3 gun is for. This car is just to unwind and have fun on the street(legally of course) and to run the occasional track day at Eagles Canyon raceway a few times a year. Running with the Newb Yellow group just to have some fun.

I have probably 4000 or so runs of zero to over 160 KIAS (175mph) in 2 to 3 thousand feet (depending on configuration) and this is just not real exhilarating to me. So class and blower and rules dont matter to me. This is strictly a street machine. Now running a road course with 1000rwhp would be a rush i think.:happyanim:

Oh, and its so good to see you up and running now.....I have been following your adventure since i bought my car new off the lot Aug 2011!

Kick ass and take names.....8 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can probably run the F2 and then use a boost controller to have a more streetable setting and better for the road course.

Bull, You know my opinion... but there is nothing wrong with staying with a blower...

I wish I could give a balanced opinion, but I've never owned a blower car and I've got very limited time riding in one...
