One panel at a time correction

I read a thread on here awhile back from a member who was correcting one panel at a time. He was using IPA. to strip any wax then polish and seal. I have been reading on some detailing sites they don't recommend IPA saying it will damage the clear and doesn't always do a good job especially on vertical surface s. Are there any other option s? My car just has either spray was or butter wax.

IPA when diluted correctly has a very minimal chance of damaging your clear/paint. Most polishes will remove old sealant and wax anyways. Also, using certain car wash soaps can strip wax and what not. Some people use dawn dish washing soap to strip everything off the paint.

Use of a paint prep spray will safely take off any waxes or paint sealants. If there is ceramic coating on the panel you have to use polishing compound to get it off a panel etc. there is nothing wrong with doing a panel at a time as long as you are fully starting and completely finishing the panel before going to another. You don’t want to have any unprotected panels left for days and or driving around. If you wanna do a panel at a time and vehicle is not ceramic coated then use paint prep spray from Blackfire, then clay bath, then polish depending on condition of panel, then use paint prep again before putting your new coating on regardless of your choice of protection.
