Last corvette was built today

 So the last c6 rolled off the line today, it was a 427 convertible, and chevy is going to keep it in the museum. Kind of bittersweet, the c6 had a great run but it does mean the c7 is coming . Not nearly as sad as the last days of production for the 4th gen camaro though . Makes me think that it Will be tough when they finally end production of the 5th gen. But atleast we know there will be a 6th coming right after. :chevy:

that's alright. the older model has to go to make room for the next generation model :)

LimaCharlie 03-01-2013 01:20 AM

The C6 is an amazing car. With the Z06 and ZR1, GM showed the world that it can compete with anything. Sad to see it end but I'm interested in what the C7 will bring now.

SPCBA 03-01-2013 01:22 AM

cant wait to see the c7 z06 and zr1.

06_warrior 03-01-2013 01:23 AM

Sad but come on C7 :D

GEEKFREEKSCOTTY 03-01-2013 02:58 AM

The C7 is beautiful in person. I was in Vegas recently and saw one driving down the street.

Do not speak of the inevitable end of 5th gen production. I dont wanna think about it. :yikes:

It is sad because the C6 was a really beautiful car. The C7 styling misses the mark by a huge margin.

I disagree by a huge margin.

Definately a day for the history books.

Apex Motorsports 03-01-2013 06:16 AM

Very exciting. The aftermarket is already hard at work on C7 products. SEMA should be interesting this year.

biggerisbetter 03-01-2013 06:55 AM

Funny how you the only one who agrees with me on this. Incoming C7s means lower price on pre owned C6s :happyanim:.

motorhead 03-01-2013 06:59 AM

So what's the news here? It isn't like corvette production is ending for good. Now that would be worth noting. This is merely a model change which happens all the time.

I agree too. I think the back side of the new one is hideous.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I guess GM felt there was a market for it though. Isn't the Camaro already the poor man's Corvette? :chevy:

Yeah the tail light treatment is just flat ugly and the rest of the car is muddled. It looks like they took some of the Vette body cues and mixed them with Ferrari, Porsche and a smidgen of Lotus.

Opinions are personal, that is what makes the world great. The Corvette is not in my price range at this time, but I will say that a current C6 Grand Sport Owner I know is acting like a kid with his first Playboy magazine staring at EVERY picture he can see of the C7. He cannot wait and thinks it is the wild looking car that GM has been promising since the great concepts of the 60's. I happen to think that the C7 looks amazing in photos and cannot wait to see one in person.

To the outgoing C6 - great run!

Sadly, I know that reference. I feel old now. I'm suprised Hollywood hasn't done a Hogans Heros or Black Sheep movie yet. They've done everything else...... Even a McCale's Navy........
