Just remember......... my orange looked funky and was a step 'out there' when Joe did my photoshops. Hard to imagine it in person til you see it in person. The orange worked well I think. At the time it was different. I've seen a few different colored heritage grills since but not many.

Tuff choice. The back looks awesome. In fact, I think I'm gonna finish my back with orange now.

I think Russ read it wrong.

Gotta remember though, black and orange have always looked good together.

And been around a while. Kind of a Camaro Staple, plus it matches your interior.

I have another idea... what if you use blue or black insert, but put a red pinstripe around it? I saw the car in the first post of this thread: http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179804

I know that car is green, but the black inset with the red pinstripe looks cool. Then if you did your calipers red, it would tie in with the pinstripe.

Here are a couple pics from that thread.

I think you'd lose the black in a sea of dark blue and all that would show is the red pin stripe.

I think I understood it. He was asking if he should do the back, and I was saying yes...if the color is black.

That being said, I would definitely do what you like, and not take our opinions too seriously.

Look what mlee did to his car a while back. I didn't like it personally, but it was definitely different.

Ok to give Norm's some thought...

I'm not into lighter colors... a lighter blue is not gonna work with my ultimate plans for the paint.

You'd be amazed at how well black contrast shows up on dark colors. I think the black spears look good on my CGM car.

What are your ultimate plans for the paint?

garcmol 11-01-2011 01:54 PM

I like the combo! I don't think the RJT would blast out at you either. Like walking toward the car from an angle you'd never notice the contrast until you were on it.

Now tuck a dim red LED behind the grill in "breathe" mode

While I agree with Russ on the meaner look. I think that with the Red and Blue this one is easier the better of the two.

IMHO I would look at non stock colors too.

There was a rare color on 1st gens called "royal plum". I think it would look really sweet with your plans.
Beautiful color that changes from a deep, dark, almost purple at night, to a more reddish RJT in the sun.

It does, your right. I can't see them though. Don't remember what the condition is, but I can't differentiate shades of color. If it's too close, I can't see it. Like ghost flames on cars, most times my wife points them out for me.

I'm on the fence as to where the paint should stop... I think Nrom's looks cleaner/sleeker

But Russ's idea does look meaner.

I'm thinking that may be the way to go get a more custom red/maroon/plum color....

Plus RJT has no metallic and I'm thinking I'm gonna want that....

Dr Jkel 11-01-2011 02:05 PM

I am not feeling the RJT on the Blue for sum reason...maybe becuase I have not seen it in person....Orange, yellow, black, graphite maybe but not RJT. Maybe if you use it as an accent color.

I had a wild dea of reversing the color on my hood and having RJT stripes and CGM hood...in my head it looked really good until I actually saw one done that way...kinda glad I stuck with what I had.....

BUT here's the thing...if you like it that is the only thing that matters.

RJT does have metallic........Trust me on that one.
