99 camaro ss engine rebuild,help!!!!
 

Ok so I have a 99 camaro as with a 5.7ls1 and about a month ago I went through some flood water and messed it up so a friend of mine is saying I probably just need to suck the water out of the cylinders and ill be alright so I'm gonna try that tomorrow but I'm case that doesn't work any suggestions or even if you guys could tell me about some engine rebuild shops that are good and keep in mind I'm a 22 year old college student I can't afford a 10000 engine rebuild I'm in Houston Texas so any info will help thanks guys

Drain the oil, transmission fluid and rear end lube, Pull the spark plugs ( the back two are a
@#$%^&& If it will crank. Motor the engine approx 5 sec. Pull the oil filter and install a new one. Add 4 quarts of oil. Put the plugs back in. service the trans and rear end. See if it will start. If it starts and runs you might be ok. Change the oil & filter again.. Good Luck

So today we took out the spark plugs and we put a little hose in to see if we could suck any water out but it was pretty much free of water just enough to tell that there was water in it but not enough to actually suck any out just an update not sure where to go from there with what you mentioned...ps my phone was acting weird when I made this thread so there might be multiple threads now now,sorry

i know i may be a little late, but spray the cylinders with a little wd 40, and roll the motor over. If the engine turns over fine, just flush ALL the fluids and you should be good.
