New Camaro owner but have an issue

So I bought a 2014 SS 2SS and the first couple of days sounded great. Then I got on it a little and now I hear a rattle when I accelerate. I took it to the dealership and they told me its a normal noise.

Normal that wasn't there at first? I googled the noise and everyone says something different. I'm not a mechanic but I'm going to take it to another dealership hoping for better results. For almost $50,000 I expect no problems.

Demand to take a spin with a service manager in two new Camaros on there lot that are equipped like yours.
If you hear the noise, it may be normal. If not, they are bs'ing so make them fix yours.

Everything is "normal" to them. They don't make money by doing no-cost work. They aren't your friends.

yeah, I tried that but none of them have manual ss's laying around. I know it doesn't sound normal though. The noise wasn't there the first few days I had it either. I had one of their techs ride with me and he said it sounded like drive train and was not a normal sound. Then when it came time to talk to them about fixing it, they said it was normal.

They then told me to leave the car with them and they would have a chevy engineer come test drive it. Corporate has no reference of any engineer going there to see it so they probably lied. I had corporate speak to another dealerships customer service person for me. Going to take it there for them to check out and hopefully they fix it.

I'm not mechanic, but that noise doesn't sound right.

Almost 50,000? Is that what they're going for now??!?

Try another dealer and never buy a car from them again.

rattle is not normal....

Try posting in the regional forums. I'm sure a fellow owner would take a ride with you and see if they can pinpoint it for ya.

Yeah, I didn't think so. Somebody I work with said it could be clutch plates or throw out. Hoping its a simple fix so I can just be done with the headache. Otherwise, its a badass car.

rmb21301 05-08-2014 07:25 PM

Yes but you can also probably buy a house for $58k in Virginia. In New York, prices are high because theres more money floating around.

Nobody here can ascertain for certain if your car has a problem, given the vague description. However, these cars do have some drivetrain noise from time to time. The Tremec transmissions are not silent, and under certain conditions some "rattling" could be normal.
