Whipple 2.9L Self Install
I am considering a Whipple SC and am curious if anyone has installed their own? I am a "shade tree mechanic" with tools and a garage. Just curious if it is advisable or not.

I did it. Not a hard install at all

It took me 17 hours start to finish! However that's also many ,many people coming over to talk and see the install, worth every minute

I took my computer to my tuner for a base tune before I started the install so I could take it in for a dyno tune right away. Honestly I would never pay anyone to install the blower it is so easy. Just time consuming. Everything in my sig was installed with jack stands in my garage.

Here is mine I did in my garage last fall. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251787 JRE sent me my tune in the mail. It runs like a charm.

Very straight forward install, it took me about 13 hours over 3 days to do it. With a little help I was able to get the car drivable tune wise and then I took it to slowhawk for some dyno tuning. Don dialed my car in perfect.

John, you should get in touch with Mike Norris down in Plainfield. You won't be disappointed. I have Mike, Eric and Bruce do a great deal of work on my car and I can't speak highly enough about them!
Edit.....Phone calls are the best way to reach him. |
