anyone seen this? and a few questions about nitrous tunes

http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/prod...age=1&featured

anyone have any experiance with this?

and does anyone know the diffrence in a normal tune and a nitrous tune?
is it only the timming.
basicly what im getting at is if i use this interface is it gonna help me run more nitrous? i have the v6 so its not like i can go out and just tune the car like you ss guys and i do know about trifecta but its not something i want to do. im hoping someone like hp comes out with something but until then will this get me were i want to be?

All that box is doing is adjusting the WOT fuel. I wouldn't trust it at all!! Would definitely recommend just getting a Handheld

I'm running a 150shot on an LS3 motor. All I'm using is a Trinity and an AEM Uego Wideband. I have two tunes set up on my Trinity a Nitrous tune and a Non-Nitrous tune. The nitrous tune has 5 - 5.5 degrees of timing retard. Both tunes are set up for 12.7 AFR. I tuned for on the bottle by swapping nitrous jets.. (unhook battery, wrap towel around the fuel solenoid, unhook, swap jet, hook line back up, reconnect battery... takes a min and a half tops... way to easy)

No... It sets a rpm window, sets a WOT, and retards the timing off the IAT sensor, and the kicker is........... It wont work on our cars. A couple of us just found out today, that the wiring harness will not work for us, and they still sold it to us. Still lookig into an MSD box, but not holding much hope foe that. Sticking with the 75hp shot for now. Damnit!!!!!

Ugh.... Didn't you order one? Did you get it in and figure out it doesn't work or is that what you just heard. I looked on other forum and everyone loves it but they all had v8's. And I would love a handheld but they don't make one for the v6

Ya.. The MAF sensor wiring harness is wrong. When company was contacted, they said GM must have changed their wiring harness, and that it could be sent back for a refund. But when you order it, it specifically says gen 5 v6.

Lame! I got my hopes up err..... Let's hope this hp tune thing works out

Used the box and it works BUT............... You have to swap the wires on the box. They wired it backwards. I told them this over a year ago and how to fix it. Either way you have to start small. The fueling was rich, 40 of fuel worked on @ 80 hp of nitrous. Its easy to start rich and work you way down. With the VCM, it doesn't like this especially with autos. The VCM likes to hold a memory of the nitrous run. Don't ask me why or how but my MAF will hold higher flow values from nitrous runs on non nitrous runs. The best time with a 12.20 @115 on motor stock converter, went 11.38 @121 maxing out the injectors spraying a 53 nitrous jet.

You can tune a dry shot to work on a N/A tune. If shoot it directly at the MAF to pick up the airflow gain, you can add fuel and pull timing in the upper MAF gain area without hurting N/A numbers.

ya im not sure i wanna risk it....if they cant wire something the right way and then not even fix it once someone tells them about it. i dont think i want to deal with them......anyone know of something else like this that would work?

jeff4946 04-01-2011 07:35 PM

My nitrous jets are off. I've been getting really rich on the 75hp shot. Talked alittle with ROD1, and he gave me the proper jetting. Contacted Zex, and they have been pretty good about listening to the issue( I've seen some threads where they were difficult ), and Aaron and Mike with Zex have been contacting me twice to three times a day for the last four days. Gonna send me some leaner jets for free just out of the blue. I like service like that.

rhd 04-02-2011 06:23 AM

ya i have the correct jets i just want to spray 125 shot.........MAYBE 150 but trifecta is killing me so im trying to figure out a diffrent way.....if i have to i will just stick to 75 till someone else comes out with a tune

JANNETTYRACING 04-02-2011 07:36 AM

A simple way is to just add an MSD Timing Twister, Timing retard activated by the NOS.

Set it for 2 degrees per 50 HP of Retard and your good to go.

Ted.

jeff4946 04-02-2011 11:55 AM

Holy crap.... does this work for the gen 5 v6. I swear to god if you tell me yes, ill slap my momma.

JANNETTYRACING 04-02-2011 12:09 PM

No Sir LSV8s only.
