Lamont - My 2011 Camaro 2LT/RS Build

Hey Guys,

been a long time lurker on Camaro5 (way before I even bought the car) and thought I should say Hi and start a build thread. I fell in love with the Camaro a long time ago and always wanted to own one. Now I just got my O-1 Visa for the United States approved and live in Los Angeles. I realised my dream of owning a Camaro when I purchased my friends 2011 2LT/RS in Forth Worth and drove it down to Los Angeles about 3 weeks ago. I bonded with that car on the 2000 mile road trip and a lot has happened since.

First pic when I bought the car in Fort Worth.

Adventures in New Mexico. This is also where the name comes from. We met a wonderful chap by the name of 'Lamont Penn' who owns land, an antiques shop and a taxidermy and showed us around. 'Lamont' is a medieval Scottish name for 'Lawman'. I think that fits :D

Ever since getting home, I started installing upgrades and doing work on it.

Here's what's been done so far:

1) AEM Cold Air Intake
2) Havoc Rear Diffuser with custom cut quad tip openings.
3) Resonator Delete, Magnaflow Mufflers and Quad Tips (Nice work Mike's Exhaust)
4) VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Hood (Thanks to Ultimate Motor X, great service).
5) Black Taillight Bezels
6) Sequential Tail Light Harnesses
7) LED Fog Lights and Daytime-Running-Light Harness
8) ACS T5 front splitter installed
9) GM ZL1 Side Skirts installed
10) RPI Designs ZL1 Rock Guards
11) Anvil Notch Carbon Rear Spoiler
12) All interior lights replaced with Aqua LED's

Part's I have ordered, that will go in next:

1) Elite Catch Can
2) Ported Throttle Body
3) Ice-Olator
4) Smoked tail lights and headlights
5) My car is at the shop for her 3M Matte Dark Gray wrap right now. (WrapBullys)
7) Niche Misano 20 x 9 fronts and 20 x 10 rears. Anthracite.
8) Black Out Logos

Thanks for the nice words chaps. Means a lot, you all drive beautiful cars :D

Here's what's happening right now. I am in Vancouver to get my Visa stamped in my passport, whilst Wrapbullys over in LA are working on Lamont.

The color I went for is: 3M Matte Dark Gray. I absolutely loved it when I saw it in person. It renders quite a bit darker than what you see on these photos here, but I'll post some proper photos when I get my car back on friday. Next step.. New Wheels.

EDIT: George over at Wrapbullys is awesome!! They're painting my Chevy bowties and the Camaro lettering on the side, free of charge. They're also painting my brake calipers. Big shoutout to people like them who hook us up!

Falling in love all over again!! :clap2::love:

Not sure yet. I'll leave it Carbon until I see it in person and then decide. The photos make the wrap look a lot more silver than it actually is. It looks quite a bit darker in person!

Alright. The wrap is finished and I could not be happier. This thing looks absolutely brutal in Matte Dark Gray.. SO HAPPY. Wrapbully's did a fantastic job.

Next up, blacking out the sidemarkers and putting on my Niche Misano's..

Here's three photos at daytime:

Really looking forward to it. Hopefully gonna have these in the car on wednesday or thursday this coming week. So far everything has been going smooth, still haven't found the wire for my footwell lights :(

Niche Misano's installed
VMax Ported Throttle Body installed
Iceolator installed
Elite Engineering Catch Can installed

I never really worked on cars much before, but was able to install everything pretty easily. My buddy has a ton of tools so I could get to every screw comfortably. The Iceolator took about 30-45 minutes to install just because everything had to be taken apart and I gave it a good clean before putting it back together. If you change just the throttle body, you'd be done in 5 minutes. Crazy fast.

No CEL's at all, car runs great. Taking it easy for the first 100 miles.

Catch Can install fast and straight forward. Nicely done Elite Engineering.

Pictures soon.

Was driving along the Pacific Coast Highway and had to stop for some cheeky photos in Malibu.. Also, Vitesse throttle controller installed. In Love!
