rim scratches

Hello fellow Camaro lovers! I live on a dirt road and am guilty of using the touchless car washes. I have scratches on my rims. Any suggestions on how to repair them?

Light sanding with finest sandpaper that would be effective.

Start fine and move to more coarse as needed then back to fine to smooth it out.

Then touch up paint

If they're just fine scratches just some basic polishing will help... but if its more substantial 'curb rash' type damage then Coop is right... sanding.

I just got my first dose of curb rash yesterday. Ohhhhh, makes me mad. :mad0260:

So some sanding and then paint? What's the paint color used on stock 20" SS wheels?

Thanks!

I used DupliColor ScratchFix 2 in 1

Color code: NG GM 340

Really did a good job, color is almost the same.

Is that for the Midnight silver or the "polished" wheels?

Dylan, does Adams have some kind of attachment and pads for the PC or Flex to take advantage of SHR or your new green severe swirl/haze remover for painted rims? Are the 4 inch pads the smallest that you sell?

I took a look and they are Midnight Silver. I always tought they where polished but you question made me look furthur and I was wrong.

So the paint code is what I wrote NG GM 340.

Sorry for that.

Hope this pic will confirm my wheels

Hello everyone... just picked up my new 2011 Camaro 3 weeks ago... Brought it up to Cape Cod this past week and unfortunately it has taken a beating (was keyed 2 days ago..ugh) & I got my first case of Curb Rash last night....and it felt like a little piece of me died... Wanted to thank everyone for their insight on how to touch up the rash as best as possible. THANKS!

My rims are painted flat black. Should I sand the use that product or just get them repainted?
