1LE more rare than ZL1?

Found it interesting that it seems (at least in my areas of travel) there are a bunch more ZL1 cars as compared to 1LEs. The only other 1LE I have seen in the wild is a red one in Cleveland and I know the guy lol is this what other people have experienced? It also seems like dealers have more ZL1s sitting at the lot than the 1LE cars.

i'm hoping that's the case..

ZL1 has been out longer and being the high end, i'd think they'd sell more to the ones that will buy the highest trim out there... also the 1LE limits buyers since those unwilling to drive manual will have to look elsewhere.

All 7 of the dealerships I've been to have at least 1 ZL1 .. only 3 had a 1LE and only 1 had more than 1 (Rick Hendrick Chevy being the execption.. but they are the largest dealership in the southeast and said in the quarter they were leading the nation)

guess we'll find out when the official numbers come out

Besides the 2010 Pace Car the 12 ZL1 will be the rarest of all.

I've seen a handful of ZL1's on the road & only 1 other 1LE besides mine on the road.

More rare than a COPO? oh that's right - they dont count.

I guess we'll see when someone officially announces the production figures for MY13.

btw - I think it was January before I saw any release of the previous year's model breakdown. This thread could get really long by then!

i still havent seen a 1le yet. theres just as many zl1s in my town as ss's and only 7000 people. like 5-6 of each

I see more than a few 1le camaros around metro Detroit. I dont know about more or less than the zl1 because I see those too.

From the comments I have heard around here, other than the enthusiast, most just don't understand what the 1LE is. They think it's just an SS that costs more. With the ZL1, they see the differences in the engine and the body styling and understand where the additional costs come from. They don't with the 1LE, and most sales men around here can't communicate the performance differences because they don't understand the car either.

Truth spoken. Not all, but a good many. A local salesman didn't even know what one was. He kept "correcting" me saying I must mean ZL1 because it has the 550 HP engine and was made for drag racing.

There were around 2000, 2012 ZL1's built and im sure the number of 1LE's will be under 1500, so yes the 2013 1LE equipped SS will be rarer than the ZL1. I have friends who work at the Oshawa plant and we met up last weekend at a car show and they said they notice a bit more ZL1's going off the line than the 1LE.

All of this is great but I would gladly trade my rarer 1LE for a less rare ZL1!
