hey guys just wondering i got a 2ss/rs l99 if i did a ls3 conversion would i actually gain any HP or anything like that i am going to put a supercharger and cam on the car i already got a full exhaust borla atak catback CAI intake and headers, so is it even necessary? thanks :thumbsup:

That conversion would be useless just for a small amount.of HP. Why didn't you just get a M6 from the start?

He said he plans on doing a cam, bolt-ons, and a supercharger.

You think those great DOD lifters are going to be up to that?

I'm going to go with no.

ls3 conversion isn't for horsepower.... it's to get rid of the stupid (and weak) lifters

and it's a lot cheaper/easier to do an ls3 conversion on an auto, than it is to do a 6l80e swap on a ls3 car

would i get ls3 supercharged HP results or still the l99 like lets say i go with a magnacharger and they say 650 ls3 with their full package or even though i do the conversion would i get the 550 HP L99 package numbers

you would get somewhere in between, because you would still get the drivetrain loss of an automatic, but would have an ls3

so after the conversion i would go for an ls3 package right

pretty much once its converted to an ls3, its pretty much indentical so yea you'd be looking at LS3 packages but remember you'r still going to get the drivetrain loss of an Auto, as many camaro LS3 packages already assume its a manuel transmission car so expect to lose around 5 percent or more from whatever claimed horsepower gains the package will give.

Our shop car got the conversion at like 700 miles. We upgraded to ARP head studs and a small cam with the 3 bolt timing gear - for Forced induction in the future.

Just the conversion gained 60rwhp. Well worth it.

Anyone have more info on how one would go about the LS3 Conversion Me and Gavros both want to do the LS3 conversion. I don't plan on supercharging because theres not need for that much power around here (gavros is crazy :facepalm: ) but i still want to do the conversion.
