Custom 2010 Camaro Constructed for Competition in 2010 Formula DRIFT Championship LOS GATOS, CA – BR Racing by Luke Lonberger in partnership with Conrad Grunewald Racing reveal they are in the process of building a 2010 Camaro SS in preparation for the 2010 Formula DRIFT Championship competition. “I am very excited to be able to drive such an iconic American muscle car in the Formula DRIFT Championship,” said Conrad Grunewald, driver and owner of Conrad Grunewald Racing. “Our main goal is to have the Camaro ready for the 2009 SEMA show but our preseason testing should start immediately after the show. I have a great amount of confidence that BR Racing and Luke Lonberger can build this Camaro into a highly competitive car and I look forward to getting back out on the track.” Hankook Tire Corporation will provide tire sponsorship for the 2010 Formula DRIFT season. Grunewald announced the Camaro will use Hankook Ventus R-S3 tires on custom Forgeline aluminum 3-piece wheels. The car is to be controlled by Eibach’s Multi-Pro-R2 two-way adjustable dampers and coilovers. A GM Performance LS-A supercharged 6.2 liter V8 controlled by the AEM Universal EMS and expected to make over 600 RWHP will power the Camaro. All body work will be constructed with carbon fiber from Seibon Carbon. The car will also be on display the 2009 SEMA Show at Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 3 to Nov. 6, 2009. The Camaro build can be followed at www.conradgrunewald.com. Entering its sixth season, Formula DRIFT is recognized as the North American professional drifting championship. Established on the streets of Japan, drifting has evolved into a worldwide competitive sport that challenges each driver’s driving ability and vehicle control. Formula DRIFT provides a forum for professional drifters to compete in 7 events nationwide for the coveted Formula DRIFT Championship crown. As the first official series in North America, Formula DRIFT has taken competitive motorsports to the extreme attracting fans and car enthusiasts from all walks of life and establishes itself as the global focal point for the Sport. ohhh nice. I've been waiting to see something like this.
hell yeah!
I thought drifting started on dirt? Not the street.
Anywho, that's a badass Camaro, I can't wait to see the results. |
Im not into the whole drift scene.... But thats still pretty sweet! :w00t:

My big question is...WHERE THE &*(^(@#! did they get that spoiler?!?!!?!?
Man, I want one so bad. |
Looking forward to seeing it built.
I did cringe a bit at the pictures showing it being chopped up... |
I just saw this posted, has a lot more about the car/parts/etc

What Z/28......
;) |
Im glad to see the Camaro heading in this direction, the further we get away from the Nascar Redneck stereotype the better. Whenever i go on Autoblog or Jalopnik to read a blog post about the 5thgen, the comments section makes us seem like the laughing stock of Auto Enthusiasts.
My point is the 2010 Camaro isnt only good for Uncle Harry doing burnouts with a Coors in his hand and Mullet flapping in the wind, this car is capable of so much and the world will witness this in the coming years!! |
OMG!! my mouth is watering.... i cant wait for englishtown next year!!!!
theres drifting at englishtown? And drift cars can be RWD? i dont know much about drifting i guess haha. Looks cool!
There's Viper SRT-10 Drift cars so it's a good bet there will be Camaro drift cars.
How would you drift a FWD car? You certainly wouldn't get a whole lot of tire smoke from the rear tires... |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i liked the drifting from reese millen and the solstice, this should be cool too.
Looks like the rear spoiler is a custom build... I wonder if they'll make it available as an add-on? I can't believe GM is taking this long on getting some of these performance accessories out.

I'm sorry Mustang guys... I just couldnt resist :D. Here's a beauty shot :respekt: http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...att_VG/vg1.jpg |

LOL. Man that car looks good; especially from the back. I sure like the Hankook tires I bought. :D
I really wanna see that spoiler in person.
I do like the paint scheme on this car..
Who here can tell me the name of the logo's on the bottem. The one before Exedy, and after it. And the one under Brembo?
Before Exedy is Braille Battery, after is Stainless Works. Under Brembo is Canton Racing Products. Some of those have changed in the last month but the car is complete and I will post pics of it on Tuesday when SEMA starts.
