The ZL1 hits 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and passes 1320 feet in 12.3 seconds at 119 mph..

TJ91 01-17-2012 01:33 AM

Do they have a video review at all or no?

Shurenuff 01-17-2012 01:41 AM

Good read and the pictures are phenomenal.

They even admitted when posting these numbers that the track conditions were less than ideal for traction (dusty and cold) and that better numbers are very likely under better conditions. The MPH would indicate there is more potential for a better run. I guess we'll see about that when this car hits the streets. I think someone will post sub 12 second times stock under ideal conditions.

They did admit that road conditions werent the best either

:word:

In the article comparing the ZL1 to the Boss 302, they run a better time on the same track. Now granted, this is a pro driver, but the conditions are still the same. He also seemed a lot more impressed than the editor of this article.

"In quarter-mile testing, the Camaro ran through in 12.1 seconds at 117 mph"

Good write up.

RLHMARINES 01-17-2012 02:36 AM

0-60 in 3.8 sec and 1/4 mile time of 12.1 sec @ 117 mph on a sandy cold desert track from the Motor Trend test and much better than the 4.1 sec 0-60 and 12.3 sec 1/4 mile times from Car and Driver on the same track.

The frontal section of the Camaro has a lot to do with this also, I remember reading a while ago about the Camaros' in the Rolex and Continental GT series having an issue in standard front end form with reaching top speed at Daytona Speedway on the long straights as compared to the older Pontiac bodies they replaced.

Exactly!! If you see the Boss / ZL1 comparison it says 0-60 in 3.8 secs :D:paddle:

Can't help but notice that the car should be faster if you use the drag times calculator for horsepower 12.1 @ 117 at a weight of 4300 comes in at 508 flywheel horsepower
http://www.dragtimes.com/horsepower-...power+Estimate

10spokess 01-17-2012 10:11 AM

11.6 at 123 mph is 584 flywheel horsepower I wonder if that is the ideal conditions time
