"Transformers Camaro" Transforms The DriveShaft Shop 1000hp Axles To Metal Shavings

Hi All:
Here's The Scoop:

My Camaro Has A Total Of 4000 Easy Street Miles On It. About 2000 Miles Are With The "Level 5" 1000 Horse Power Axles By The DriveShaft Shop And 732.5 Rwhp. I Drive This Car Very Easy, If I Do Beat On Something, I Beat My 6 Second Dragster.
I Have A Total Of 6 Burnouts On This Car. One On The Street And 5 Yesterday At Island Dragway. It Was On The Fifth Attempt That I Launched The Car At 4500 Rpms And BOOM!
I'm Disappointed Because I Was Easy On The Car At The Track. This Was The First Time At The Track For This Car And I Was Only Running 1.8 To 2.0 60 Foot Times. I Was Launching Very Light As The Car Has Street Radials And Not Slicks. The Other Launch Rpms Were 3000, 3500, 4000.
The Car Has A Centrifugal Blower That Ramps In Power Easy Unlike A Positive Displacement Blower.

Any Opinions?

Call The Driveshaft Shop and ask them why their 1000hp axles couldn't handle < 75% 1000hp?

Wow, that is a bummer. :( It is very unfortunate that the DSS axles broke because there are many companies that private label those axles.

On the flipside (IMO) check out GForce1320 axles. They are not DSS and were designed on a clean sheet for the Camaro.

But the real question is how fast did it go?:D And yes , we know that you enjoy beating on something!:sm0: bring it to Teds and put it in line with the others. I know that he is getting backed up with cars by the minute!

what kind of suspension mods have been done to support the rearend other than the halfshafts? if there is still a lot of travel in the rear end the half shafts will only go so far.

Not sure but since your under the 1000hp mark and they failed you got a pretty good argument against the shafts. Keep us posted

i've read that these axles have a warranty for 1 year. i'll keep you guys posted about how the driveshaft shop handles my claim.

i'd like to get their 1400 horse power axles, just to be on the safe side.

GM should engineer a solid axle option which would solve this issue completely.

Solid Axle = for those planning to race it.
IRS = for those who just use it to do everything except race it.

Although with that much HP, you likely would break any kind of rear axle or differential eventually.
