Anyone done a LT Clutch yet?

OK... here's a new one to me...
Picked up everything I need to replace my clutch on my 2010 3.6 LT Camaro the other day at the dealer. I told him I wanted everything, including new bolts. The dealer tells me ok but there is NO listing for a pilot bearing for this car?
Now, the dealer can't even suply me with one of those plastic alignment tools for your friction disc so im thinking, I'll have to get that, AND my pilot bearing somewhere else?
NOT!!
No one has a pilot bearing for this car!!
Can this really be?
How can this clutch have NO pilot bearing?
I've never heard of it!
If I'm in there, I want to change the pilot bearing as well.
:noidea::noidea:
My service manual shows a Pilot bearing and how to re and re it. It even shows the GM special tools they want you to use to do the job. It does not however say this procedure is specific to the SS or LT.

I don't think I would have them touch my car but not surprised.

I ordered mine from summit. 12 bucks for pilot bearing and 10 bucks for alignment tool. That was for an ls3 but can't see that it would be much different

The V6 doesn't have a pilot bearing. Don't have a picture right now though. Got an LUK clutch assembly from Rock Auto does have the alignment tool (haven't installed it yet). Could measure it for you if you'd like. Flywheel bolt are one and done,,, pressure plate bolts can be reused.

Couple of LFX Miata swaps talking about it...

WOW... Very interesting reading.

I guess all I need to find is an alignment tool and I'm good to go.

Thanks for the information.

Ok, with no pilot bearing, how do you align the friction disc when you bolt up the pressure plate?

My motor is back in the car at the moment,,, but it'll be back out again soon,, I'll take a picture then. That said the alignment tool looks like it'll slide into the back of the crank like it should. See pic below I got off ebay.

As a sidebar,, I was looking at the clutch that came with my transmission from the wrecking yard. LUK was stamped on it. Anyone know if that's what comes from the factory??

Here are some pictures of the replacement clutch I bought at my Chevy dealer.
Hope this helps.
